Use Firefox’s page screenshot tools instead of capturing your whole desktop. They save the webpage without the browser toolbar, and let you choose a full page, the visible viewport, or a single element—whichever will be clearest on your slide.
Choose the right capture for your slide
- Full page: Use this for an overview of a long page. It may become too tall to read when scaled down on a slide.
- Viewport: Use this for a screen-sized view of the part currently visible in the browser.
- Element: Use this when the slide should focus on one component, such as a card or menu, without the surrounding page.
Mozilla’s Firefox Developer Tools documentation describes capturing either an entire page or a single element.

Capture a full page with Firefox Developer Tools
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Open Developer Tools: press Ctrl+Shift+I or F12 on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Opt+I on macOS.
- In Developer Tools, open Settings and find Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Click the screenshot button in the Developer Tools toolbar. Firefox saves the image in the browser’s Downloads directory.
If the button or setting is not where you expect, use Mozilla’s Firefox DevTools User Docs as a starting point; interface details can vary by browser version and platform.

Capture only the visible viewport or one element
Visible viewport
To capture just the portion currently on screen, open Responsive Design Mode and use its screenshot button. Firefox’s DevTools tips document this viewport option.

Single page element
- Open Developer Tools and select the Inspector.
- Select the page element you want to show.
- Right-click the selected node and choose Screenshot Node.
This is useful when the slide needs one focused component rather than a full-page image.

Replace <filename.png> with the filename you want. The --fullpage option captures the whole page rather than only the part visible in the browser window. See Mozilla’s DevTools tips for the documented command.

Save a screenshot through Firefox Support’s controls
Firefox Support also documents Save full page and Save visible choices. Press Command+S on macOS or Ctrl+S on Windows or Linux to save the screenshot as an image. Check the image before putting it in the presentation
- Open the saved image and view it at roughly the size it will appear in the deck; small text in a full-page capture may not remain legible when reduced.
- If the important detail is hard to read, recapture only the viewport or the relevant element rather than shrinking a long page to fit.
- Check that the image does not reveal private information or unrelated content that should not appear in the presentation.
