2. Choose the target and capture settings

The screenshot request fails or times out
Check the target URL from the server environment, not only from your browser. Verify that it includes a protocol and that your hosting provider permits outbound HTTPS requests. Try an appropriate delay for pages that populate after initial load, and confirm whether a full-page capture is needed. Check whether the cache is serving an older result; Screenshotlayer’s FAQ states a 30-day default cache duration and describes ttl for a shorter custom period. Do not assume that a new WordPress request always produces a fresh capture.
The key appears in a public page or log

WordPress reports a successful request but cannot display the result
Confirm the response content type and current Screenshotlayer response format. A successful HTTP status alone does not establish that the body is an image URL or usable image bytes.
