There is no single universal Android viewport: use a device profile when you want its configured metrics and user agent, or specify the CSS viewport dimensions that match your target.
Choose a device profile or explicit viewport
Puppeteer offers two practical ways to configure an Android-sized capture. A named device profile is convenient and applies that profile’s metrics and user agent. An explicit viewport gives you direct control over width and height. In either case, the selected values describe browser emulation; they do not verify rendering on a physical Android device.

The title does not specify a handset, so the example below uses Puppeteer’s Pixel 7 profile as an explicit choice—not as a universal Android standard. The official API documentation surfaced versions 25.11.0 and 25.12.0; check the documentation for the Puppeteer version installed in your project if you need version-specific confirmation: page.emulate(), page.setViewport(), and screenshots.
Capture a viewport-sized screenshot
Install Puppeteer in a Node.js project, save this as an ES module such as capture.mjs, and run it with node capture.mjs. Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture.

Set the viewport before navigation
Configure emulation before page.goto(). Puppeteer notes that resizing can affect site behavior; changing mobile or touch settings may trigger a reload in some cases. Setting the target configuration first avoids capturing an initial page state under different metrics.

Choose what the screenshot includes
A standard page.screenshot() captures the viewport. To capture the complete document instead, set fullPage: true:

Troubleshooting
- The page looks like desktop. Confirm the profile or viewport is applied before navigation. A width and height alone are not equivalent to a named profile’s metrics and user agent; if the site depends on mobile-specific behavior, use
page.emulate()or configure the relevant mobile and touch properties explicitly. - The dimensions do not match a particular phone. The example viewport values are illustrative, not a general Android specification. Choose a named profile or use the exact CSS viewport dimensions required by your target.
- The screenshot is only the visible screen. That is the default extent. Set
fullPage: truewhen you want the full document. - The page is incomplete when captured. The example waits for
networkidle2, but page behavior varies. Select a wait condition that reflects the state you need; the screenshot should run after required content has loaded. - The capture differs from a real Android phone. Puppeteer’s device emulation applies metrics and user-agent settings; it is not physical-device validation. Check the result separately on the hardware you need to support.
