How to Capture a Website Screenshot with a Custom Wait Time in Screenshot.Rocks

Screenshot.Rocks documents quick first-screen URL captures, not a custom wait control. For delayed or interactive content, capture in a browser workflow and import the result for styling and export.

Screenshot.Rocks’ documented online capture flow does not show a custom wait-time setting. For a page that needs time to render or must be captured in a particular state, capture it in a browser workflow that supports the needed delay or interaction, then import the image into Screenshot.Rocks to style and export it. Its online capture is designed for the first screen of a publicly reachable page, not a delayed, logged-in, or full-page capture.

What Screenshot.Rocks’ online capture does

In its website capture guide, Screenshot.Rocks describes a short URL-based process: enter a public website address, optionally choose a mobile layout, capture, then select a frame and background before exporting. The guide says the capture shows the first screen—the portion visible before scrolling—rather than the full page.

The guide does not document a user-set delay, a selector-based wait, or a timing parameter in that flow. That is a statement about the documented instructions, not confirmation that no such control exists anywhere in the service.

Capture a public page with the documented flow

  1. Open the Screenshot.Rocks editor and find “Or capture a website.”
  2. Enter the public page address. The guide says you may omit the https:// prefix.
  3. Select Mobile if you want the phone layout. Leave it unselected for desktop.
  4. Press Capture.
  5. Choose a frame style and background, then export the image.

Screenshot.Rocks publishes these capture specifications in its guide; they are product specifications, not independent measurements:

Layout Capture size Density Output dimensions
Desktop 1440 × 800 2× 2880 × 1600 pixels
Mobile 375 × 812 3× 1125 × 2436 pixels

When you need a custom wait or a specific page state

Use a browser-based capture workflow that lets you wait for the page or interaction you need. For example, a page may need additional time for client-side content to appear, or you may need a menu open or a form filled in. Capture the required state in your browser, then import the image into Screenshot.Rocks for its mockup and export features.

The Screenshot.Rocks guide recommends capturing the page yourself for logged-in content, a particular state, local or staging pages, and full-page images. Its extension captures the visible part of the current tab; the guide does not describe it as a full-page capture mechanism.

Choose online capture or browser capture

Need Better fit
A public page’s initial desktop or mobile screen Screenshot.Rocks’ URL capture flow.
A custom delay or a particular interactive state A browser capture workflow with the required wait or interaction control, followed by import to the editor if desired.
Content behind a login Capture while signed in through a browser workflow.
A localhost, local, or staging page Capture from a browser that can reach that address.
A full-page image Use a workflow that explicitly captures the full page, then import it if you want Screenshot.Rocks’ styling and export tools.
A site that blocks automated browsers Try a browser-side capture workflow instead of the online server capture.

Screenshot.Rocks says its online server capture cannot access login-only content or local addresses such as localhost, and may not work on sites that block automated browsers. Its guide says the server returns the capture to the browser without storing it. The homepage also says images are processed in the browser and are not stored on Screenshot.Rocks’ servers.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server for developers. One GET request can return an image or PDF; use its documentation for the available parameters and response details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools to take screenshots, inspect page information, and capture PDFs. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Troubleshooting

  • The page is missing content below the fold: the documented online capture shows the first screen, not the full scrolling page. Use a full-page browser capture workflow instead.
  • The capture does not show content that appears later: the documented flow does not provide a custom wait control. Capture through a workflow that supports waiting for the content, then import the result.
  • The page requires a login: the online server capture cannot see behind a login. Capture it in a browser session where you are signed in.
  • The address is localhost or a staging site: the online server cannot see local addresses. Use a browser that can access the site and capture there.
  • The site blocks the capture: Screenshot.Rocks notes that some sites block automated browsers. Try a browser-side capture workflow.
  • The wrong layout appears: choose Mobile for a phone layout; leave it unselected for desktop.
