Screenshot.rocks can capture the visible part of a browser tab and help you style and export the image, but its reviewed official documentation does not establish an automatic cookie-banner removal feature. For a one-off image, crop or cover the banner after capture; for repeatable captures, use a separate browser-automation tool with a site-specific CSS or selector rule. Neither approach records a consent choice.
What Screenshot.rocks does—and what it does not document
Screenshot.rocks is a browser-based screenshot editor and mockup tool. Its browser extension captures the visible part of the active tab and opens the image in the editor, where you can style, mark up and export it. Its overview describes in-browser processing and says editor images are not stored on its servers. Screenshot.rocks overview
The reviewed official pages do not substantiate a built-in control for automatically hiding cookie banners. Treat banner removal as a separate cleanup or automation step rather than a Screenshot.rocks feature. The extension also captures only the visible viewport, not a full-length page. Capture and edit a visible browser tab
- Install the Screenshot.rocks extension from a supported browser store and pin it to the browser toolbar.
- Open the page you want to capture. If the banner is present, decide whether the image is just for visual presentation or whether you need to test consent behavior; those require different workflows.
- Click the Screenshot.rocks extension button. It captures the visible tab and opens the result in an editor tab.
- Choose a style or background, add any desired markup, and export the image from the editor.
The extension documentation says the screenshot is sent to Screenshot.rocks to open in the editor and is not stored. The overview separately says editor images are processed in the browser and are not stored on Screenshot.rocks servers. Avoid capturing confidential information unless you have assessed the handling of the data visible in the image. Extension data handling

Capture a full page instead of just the viewport
Because the extension captures the visible tab area, use your browser’s built-in full-page screenshot function when you need content below the fold. Then import that image into Screenshot.rocks for styling or annotation. The exact browser command varies by browser and version, so look for its full-page capture option rather than assuming the extension scrolls and stitches the page for you. Ways to remove a banner from the image
For a one-off visual asset: crop or cover it
If you already have a Screenshot.rocks capture with a banner in it, crop the banner out if doing so leaves enough of the page to communicate what you need. Alternatively, cover it with an opaque shape in an image editor. This edits the pixels; it does not interact with the site or change its consent state.
For repeatable captures: use a site-specific CSS or selector rule
The separate capture-website project documents CSS injection and selector-based hiding. A rule targeting a known banner can be useful when you capture the same site repeatedly. It is not a Screenshot.rocks capability, and it may need maintenance if the site changes its markup or consent provider.
Hiding or removing an element can also change page layout. The capture-website documentation specifically warns that applying display: none can affect layout. Inspect the resulting image to confirm that content did not shift, overlap or disappear along with the banner. capture-website documentation
Hiding a banner is not accepting or rejecting consent
A clean-looking screenshot proves only that the banner is absent from the image. It does not prove that the site recorded a choice, that tracking was disabled, or that consent was accepted or rejected. If you are testing consent behavior, use the page’s actual accept or reject controls and record which action you took. A hosted capture service documents a blockCookieBanners option that dismisses banners or popups, but that documentation does not establish a guaranteed consent state. Protect private details before sharing
Inspect the entire exported image, including small text and areas outside the main subject. The Screenshot.rocks guide says its blur effect is flattened into the exported image, but cautions that light blur or small pixelation can sometimes be reversible. For passwords, API keys and account numbers, prefer cropping them away, replacing the data before capture, or covering them with an opaque shape rather than relying on a subtle blur. #1 Best Overall
The same guide attributes to its author, Dave Earley, the statement: “Images exported from Screenshot.Rocks are drawn fresh in the browser, so none of the original file’s metadata is copied into them.” That metadata detail does not make visible sensitive information safe to publish; review the image itself before sharing. Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot from one GET request. The API accepts options to remove known cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. It bills only clean shots: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers. It also offers an MCP server with screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
Here is the cURL example; replace the URL with the page you want to capture and provide your API key:

Can Screenshot.rocks create a full-page screenshot with its extension?
No. Its extension captures the visible part of the active tab; use your browser’s full-page screenshot function and import the image into the editor.
Does hiding a cookie banner mean the website accepted my consent choice?
No. Visual hiding does not establish that the site recorded acceptance or rejection. Use the site’s actual consent controls when testing consent behavior.
