Use Chrome DevTools’ device mode to view a site at a Pixel 8-sized mobile viewport, then capture either the visible screen or the full page. Choose the Pixel 8 preset if it appears in your Chrome installation; otherwise, set custom dimensions and label them as an approximation. The Pixel 8’s 1080 × 2400 display resolution is a physical-screen specification, not automatically the CSS viewport size DevTools should use.
Choose what kind of screenshot you need
- Viewport screenshot: captures only the content visible in the emulated phone screen. Use it to show a particular screenful or inspect a responsive layout.
- Full-page screenshot: captures page content beyond the visible viewport, including below the fold. Use it when you need to review the whole page in one image.
Both options use Chrome’s emulated device viewport. For behavior that depends on real phone hardware or mobile browser software, verify on an actual Pixel 8 as well.

Capture the page in Chrome DevTools
- Open the page and DevTools. In desktop Chrome, navigate to the website, then open DevTools using Chrome’s menu or your operating system’s developer-tools shortcut.
- Turn on device mode. Click the device-toolbar toggle in DevTools. In the toolbar’s Dimensions selector, choose Pixel 8 if it is listed.
- If needed, create a custom device. Open DevTools Settings > Devices and add a mobile device with the width and height you want to test. Set a device pixel ratio (DPR) only if you know the intended value or your test requires it. Chrome describes DPR as the ratio between physical screen pixels and logical CSS pixels.
- Reload or inspect the page at the selected size. Check that the page has adapted to the emulated viewport and that any content you want to capture has loaded.
- Capture the desired scope. In DevTools, open More options, then choose Capture screenshot for the visible viewport or Capture a full size screenshot for the entire page.
Chrome’s Device mode guide explains device selection, custom settings, DPR, and screenshot capture.

Google lists the Pixel 8 display as 1080 × 2400 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Those are physical display specifications; they do not, by themselves, establish a single CSS viewport width, height, or DPR for DevTools. Do not enter 1080 × 2400 as though it were the phone’s CSS viewport without confirming the emulation settings you intend to use.

Google’s figures are on its Pixel 8 specifications page. If Chrome does not offer a Pixel 8 preset, choose custom dimensions appropriate to your test and describe them as your chosen approximation—not as a universal Pixel 8 viewport.

- Whether it is a viewport-only or full-page capture.
- Whether you selected Chrome’s Pixel 8 preset or entered custom settings.
- For custom emulation, the width, height, and DPR you used.
This prevents someone else from mistaking a custom responsive-layout test for a capture made with a standard Pixel 8 profile.

ScreenshotNeo can return a website screenshot through one GET request. Its API accepts a URL and supports image output; see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for configuration options. This is a different workflow from Chrome device emulation: use it when you want an API capture rather than a DevTools screenshot at a specific Pixel 8 viewport.

Not necessarily. Device mode simulates a mobile viewport; check on a physical Pixel 8 when the behavior depends on real-device hardware or browser software.
