To keep an OBS playlist stream stable on JioFiber, use Ethernet where possible, choose a bitrate your connection can sustain with about 20% upload headroom, and test the full setup before going public. There is no single OBS bitrate guaranteed for every JioFiber subscriber: the route from your computer to YouTube’s ingest server and competing household traffic matter as well as the speed-test result.
How much JioFiber upload speed does an OBS stream need?
Start with YouTube’s recommended bitrate for your resolution and frame rate, then make sure the actual upload available to the streaming computer can sustain it. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom; the calculation is bitrate ÷ 0.8. This is a planning estimate, not a JioFiber performance guarantee.

The bitrate figures are YouTube’s current H.264 encoder recommendations, not measured JioFiber results. The headroom values are arithmetic illustrations based on YouTube’s 20% guidance. Other uploads, cloud backups, video calls, and household devices consume capacity too, so allow for them rather than treating the table as a pass/fail speed test. If you cannot sustain the upload comfortably, reduce bitrate and, if needed, frame rate or resolution. A lower stable stream is preferable to a higher-demand stream that repeatedly drops frames.

Prepare the JioFiber connection
Use the same computer and connection you will stream from
- Connect the OBS computer to the JioFiber router with Ethernet if feasible. OBS notes that Wi-Fi can be unstable for streaming and recommends a wired connection.
- Run an upload test from that computer, on the connection that will carry the broadcast. A speed-test result is useful, but does not prove that the route to YouTube ingest will remain stable over a long session.
- Pause or schedule other uploads and heavy network use during the stream, and leave the recommended headroom.
- Check the router connection, Ethernet cable, and router placement or Wi-Fi signal if you cannot use a wire.
Jio’s support FAQ describes checking upload speed, latency, network quality, and Wi-Fi or LAN performance with Jio NetVelocity on a Jio Set Top Box. It also suggests restarting the router, using LAN, or running MyJio diagnostics when results are below expectation. Those checks can help diagnose a home network, but they are not a measurement of the OBS computer’s sustained route to YouTube. See Jio’s speed-test guidance.
Set OBS and YouTube for a continuous stream
Choose a practical encoder profile
YouTube’s current live guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265, and AV1, constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). It recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingest. Use an encoder and settings supported by your OBS setup; for H.264, use the bitrate recommendations above as a starting point, not a promise of JioFiber capacity. Do not choose the highest available resolution merely because it is available.

Connect OBS to the correct YouTube live stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the live stream you intend to run.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream into OBS’s streaming settings. Use the ingest protocol and encoder settings appropriate to your setup.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not share it or expose it in a recording or screenshot. If it is compromised, reset it through Live Control Room and update OBS with the replacement.
- Start the encoder, then check the YouTube preview and stream health before making the broadcast public. Confirm representative moving video and audio, not just a static scene.
For YouTube’s current workflow, see Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. The exact OBS interface labels can vary by version; use OBS’s current streaming settings and verify that the stream is reaching the intended YouTube event.

A YouTube playlist watched by viewers is not itself a live stream. For an OBS broadcast, the playlist must be played locally into OBS as an encoder source. The available evidence does not establish the current exact OBS click-by-click workflow for looping a local playlist, and source or plugin steps can differ by OBS version and setup. Verify the playlist source’s current instructions in your installed OBS workflow before relying on it for an unattended broadcast. Test that it advances and returns to the beginning as intended; do not assume that a playlist being present in a scene means it will loop continuously.

Test before making the stream public
- Run a private or unlisted test using the same playlist, audio, output settings, computer, and network you plan to use.
- Watch OBS’s connection status and dropped-frame counter while also checking YouTube’s preview and stream health.
- Let the test run long enough to expose interruptions or playlist problems, and check both video and audio at transitions.
- If it is stable, start the public broadcast with the tested settings. Keep monitoring the connection and YouTube health rather than relying on the initial speed test alone.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a continuous stream longer than 12 hours will be retained as one complete archive; plan recording and archive needs separately and confirm behavior in the current YouTube workflow.
Fix OBS dropped frames and disconnections
First identify which OBS statistic is rising. Network-dropped frames indicate an unstable connection to the ingest server or insufficient capacity for the configured bitrate. Rendering or encoding lag is a different problem; changing encoder hardware settings will not fix a network path issue. OBS’s connection guidance covers network troubleshooting and distinguishes it from other performance problems: OBS network dropped frames.

- Reduce bitrate first if the network-dropped-frame counter climbs. If needed, also reduce resolution or frame rate.
- Try Ethernet in place of Wi-Fi where practical, and inspect router connectivity and cables.
- Pause other upload-heavy activity and retest under representative household conditions.
- Review VPNs, security software, network-prioritization tools, and network drivers. Change one factor at a time and restore defaults if a change does not help.
- OBS documents Windows-only options for network optimizations, TCP pacing, and dynamic bitrate. Dynamic bitrate may lower quality; it does not repair the underlying connection. Apply these only if appropriate for your Windows setup and test the result.
A speed test or Jio diagnostic cannot establish a stable long-session route to YouTube ingest. The official guidance cited here does not establish a special JioFiber OBS setting, a fault with a particular JioFiber line, or an upload rate guaranteed to an individual subscriber.

Before looping music, films, devotional recordings, or other third-party material, confirm that you have the rights or permission needed for a public live broadcast. A playlist that plays successfully in OBS is not proof that its contents are cleared for streaming. Review YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream rules for the material you plan to use, and keep licenses or permissions available. Reused or repetitive content may also affect channel monetization eligibility; assess the channel and content against YouTube’s current policies rather than assuming that a continuous playlist qualifies.
