To capture a mobile-sized screenshot with Screenshot.rocks, open its editor, enter the page address under “Or capture a website,” select Mobile, and click Capture. The online tool captures the first visible screen—not the entire scrolling page—and is intended for publicly accessible pages.
Capture a public page with Screenshot.rocks
- Open the Screenshot.rocks editor.
- Under Or capture a website, enter the website address.
- Select Mobile, then click Capture.
- When the capture opens in an iPhone frame, choose a background if you want one, then export the image.
Screenshot.rocks documents this mobile profile as a viewport of 375 × 812 points at 3× pixel density, producing a 1125 × 2436-pixel image. The guide describes it as the size of an iPhone X; treat it as the service’s fixed capture profile, not a choice of arbitrary phone models. The service says URL capture is free and does not require an account.

Know what the screenshot includes
The online capture shows the first screen in the selected mobile profile. It does not capture the full scrolling page. Before you start, decide whether you need only the visible viewport or the entire page; for a full-page capture, use browser developer tools instead.
The online tool cannot reach pages behind a login, local addresses such as localhost, or pages that block automated browsers. Use a browser session that already has access for those cases.

Capture a viewport or full page in Chrome or Edge
Chrome and Edge DevTools let you emulate a mobile viewport in your browser and capture either what is visible or the full page. This approach works for pages your browser session can access, including private pages.
- Open the page, then open DevTools with F12 or ⌘+⌥+I on Mac.
- Turn on the device toolbar with Ctrl+Shift+M on Windows, or ⌘+⇧+M on Mac.
- Choose a phone preset or enter a custom width. If you set a custom viewport, set device pixel ratio to 2 or 3 when you need a sharper output.
- Reload the page after setting the mobile dimensions. Some sites determine their layout when the page loads.
- Open the device toolbar’s more-options menu and choose Capture screenshot for the visible viewport or Capture full size screenshot for the whole page.
Chrome’s documentation distinguishes viewport screenshots from full-size captures. Emulation changes the browser’s viewport; it does not guarantee that the result will match a physical handset exactly.

Choose the right capture method
| Method | Access | Capture extent | Device control and fidelity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screenshot.rocks online capture | Public pages reachable by its automated browser; not logged-in pages, localhost, or sites that block automation | First visible screen only | Fixed 375 × 812-point profile at 3× density; convenient framed presentation, but not a selectable real-device model |
| Chrome or Edge DevTools | Pages accessible in your browser session | Visible viewport or full page | Phone presets or a custom viewport; an emulation rather than a guarantee of physical-device appearance |
| Screenshot on a physical phone | Pages accessible on that phone | What the phone’s screenshot function captures | Most accurate when the required result is the appearance on that actual device |
Improve the result before exporting
- Dismiss cookie banners and app-install prompts if they are not part of what you need to show.
- Check dark mode when it matters to the page or audience.
- For DevTools captures, reload after changing viewport dimensions if the page still looks like its desktop layout.
- Use a physical phone when the screenshot must reflect that specific handset rather than an emulated viewport.
Or skip the browser setup
For an API-based capture, ScreenshotNeo takes a screenshot from one GET request. Install the requests package with python -m pip install requests, then save this as a Python file and run it. Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture:

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and whether the request was billed.
