Capture a full webpage with GoFullPage
- Install GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture from its Chrome Web Store listing.
- Open the webpage you want to capture in Chrome.
- Click the GoFullPage icon in the toolbar, or use Alt+Shift+P. If the icon is hidden, open Chrome’s Extensions menu and pin GoFullPage to the toolbar if you want easier access.
- Wait while the extension scrolls through the page and composes the screenshot. It opens the finished capture in a new tab.
- Use the result page’s controls to download an image or PDF, or copy the result to the clipboard.
GoFullPage captures by scrolling and joining the page content; it does more than save the currently visible browser viewport. Let the process finish before closing the tab or navigating away.

Choose an image or PDF
The current Chrome Web Store listing describes PNG and JPG image exports, PDF export, and clipboard copying. Pick the format according to how you intend to use the capture:

- PDF: choose a continuous-page layout for a long scrollable record, or pagination to a standard paper size when the document should print or be read page by page. Available layout choices depend on the result controls.
- Clipboard: use the copy option when you want to paste the capture into another app without first saving a file.
Before sharing or relying on a capture as a record, inspect the finished file. A long page can be split into multiple images if it exceeds the size limit for a single image, particularly on a high pixel-density display.

When GoFullPage may not capture the whole page
The official GoFullPage FAQ notes that some PDF documents cannot be accessed for scrolling, and that certain sites use custom JavaScript to manage scrolling in ways the extension cannot handle. These are limitations of how a page exposes and updates its content during scrolling, not necessarily a problem with your shortcut or export choice.
- A PDF viewer or embedded document is missing: try opening the document directly rather than capturing the surrounding webpage. Some PDF content cannot be reached by the extension’s scrolling method.
- The page uses an unusual scrolling area: a site may scroll a nested panel or handle scrolling with custom JavaScript instead of using ordinary page scrolling. GoFullPage may not be able to capture that content correctly.
- The output ends early or is split: check all resulting image files and confirm that the final sections are present. Very large pages, especially on high-density displays, may not fit into one image.
Permissions and where captures are handled
GoFullPage’s permissions guide says captures stay locally in the extension unless you download them. It explains that the downloads permission is used to save files and that iframe-related access supports capturing content inside frames. Permission requests can vary with the feature you use; review the extension’s prompt and its guide if Chrome asks for access you did not expect.
