Its official materials do not document selecting a region before capture. GoFullPage also says you need Premium access to download an edited or cropped result, so check the current plan or trial screen before relying on that workflow.
Capture a section by cropping a full-page screenshot
- Install GoFullPage. Use the browser-store link on the official GoFullPage site. Its FAQ lists Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, but store availability and release status can change; verify the current link before installing.
- Open the page you want to capture. Navigate to it in the browser where you installed the extension.
- Start GoFullPage from the browser toolbar. The extension is described as a one-click full-page capture tool. Let the page capture finish.
- Crop in the editor. Open the result and use the crop tool to keep the section you need. This is a post-capture edit, not a selection made before the screenshot.
- Export the cropped result. Use the editor’s download controls. GoFullPage’s FAQ says Premium tools are required to download an edited or cropped version. Confirm access and available export options in the current trial or plan screen; do not assume a particular file format.
When this workflow will not fit
You need to select the region before capture
GoFullPage’s reviewed official materials describe full-page capture followed by editing; they do not document a pre-capture drag-to-select-region mode. If you need to capture only a specific visible area without first taking a full-page screenshot, choose a tool that explicitly offers selected-area capture.

The page is a PDF or uses custom scrolling
GoFullPage’s FAQ warns that PDFs may not be accessible to the extension for scrolling capture and that pages using custom JavaScript scrolling may not capture as expected. For an inner frame or frameset, its FAQ says an iFrame permission is needed to scroll that content. Do not assume the extension can capture every embedded document or scrolling layout.
The capture is split or incomplete
The FAQ cautions that very large captures may be divided into multiple images, especially on high pixel-density displays. It states: “The vast majority of pages on the web do not encounter this problem, but on a very large page (especially if you’re using a high pixel density screen) you might see a message from the extension that the screenshot will be broken up into multiple images.” If content is missing or split, try capturing a shorter page, check whether the content sits in a frame or custom scroll container, or use a tool suited to that content.

Permissions, storage, and privacy
GoFullPage says its screenshots are stored in the browser’s local HTML5 filesystem and IndexedDB, rather than on its servers. It also says permissions are requested when a feature needs them: Downloads permission is needed for download controls or automatic downloads, and iFrame permission is needed for scrolling inner iframe or frameset content. Permissions can be revoked or restored in extension options. These are the vendor’s statements, not an independent security audit; follow your organization’s rules when capturing confidential pages.
