To capture a full webpage with Thumbalizr, use its page capture size. The demo lists full-page capture for Silver and higher tiers; free membership is screen-size only. If you use the API, its parameter table names the setting size=page. Thumbalizr’s demo and API documentation describe the available paths.
Use the Thumbalizr demo for a one-off capture
- Open Thumbalizr’s demo and enter the URL of the page you want to capture.
- Select a membership tier that supports page-size capture. Thumbalizr lists free membership as screen-size only, and Silver or higher as supporting full-page or screen-size capture.
- Choose the full-page capture option if it is offered for your tier, then submit the capture. The official demo description does not document an exact sequence of current button labels, so follow the controls displayed on the live page.
A screen-size capture shows the browser’s visible area; a page-size capture extends beyond that viewport to include the full page. If the full-page option is unavailable, check that you are using a tier that supports it.

Request a full page through the API
For API integrations, set size=page in the request. The API documentation’s parameter table identifies size as the setting, with page and screen as its values. Its example also shows mode=page; do not treat that example syntax as interchangeable with the documented size parameter or with the newer Embed API. Consult the current API documentation for the recommended integration path and request format.

The API documents browser width and height controls; these determine the browser viewport used to load the page. It also documents a delay after page load. The available settings, defaults, and limits depend on the plan, so check the API details for the tier attached to your account before relying on a particular value.

Encode the target URL
When constructing an API request, encode query values correctly, especially the target URL. A target address containing its own query string has reserved characters that can otherwise be interpreted as part of the Thumbalizr request instead of part of the page address. Use a URL encoder or a client library’s query-parameter support rather than concatenating an unescaped URL into a query string.
Check the API result
Thumbalizr documents response status values QUEUED, OK, and FAILED, as well as an error header. Check these response headers when diagnosing a request: QUEUED indicates the job has not completed yet, OK indicates completion, and FAILED indicates the capture did not succeed. When a request fails, inspect the documented error header for the available explanation.

Troubleshooting
- The screenshot stops at the visible viewport: Confirm that the request uses
size=page, notsize=screen. In the demo, confirm that your tier supports full-page capture. - The API does not recognize the size setting: Check the current API documentation and use the parameter name shown in its table,
size. Avoid mixing legacy API syntax, the documentation’smode=pageexample, and Embed API instructions. - The captured page is too narrow, too wide, or laid out differently: Review the configured browser width and height. They set the viewport and can affect responsive page layout.
- Content is missing because it loads late: Review the delay setting and plan limits. Thumbalizr documents a delay after page load, but the usable settings depend on defaults and tier.
- The result is still processing or failed: Read the status header and, for a failed job, the error header. A queued job is not yet a completed screenshot.
