Gyre’s public documentation does not guarantee that every active broadcast will continue uninterrupted after an ordinary cancellation, so check the stream separately in Gyre and YouTube.
Cancel renewal without stopping to change your plan
- Sign in to Gyre and open the avatar menu.
- Go to Settings > Subscriptions > Active.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Open its three-dot menu and choose Unsubscribe, then follow any confirmation prompt.
- Return to the subscription details and check its status and paid-through or renewal date. Gyre’s public instructions do not specify the exact dashboard label or the cutoff time for your account.
- Separately verify that the broadcast is still live in Gyre and on your YouTube channel. Avoid plan changes or account deletion while preserving the current stream is your priority.
Gyre says subscriptions renew by charging at the start of a new period; cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. The cancellation action is about renewal, not a command to stop the broadcast. However, Gyre does not explicitly promise that an active stream will remain uninterrupted after every ordinary unsubscribe. Check its status rather than relying on an assumption. Cancellation, stream stoppage and plan changes are different
Gyre’s FAQ warns that choosing another paid plan closes the free subscription, stops active streams and provisions a new server. It also says a free trial that is not cancelled by day seven upgrades to Start+, and trial streams stop when the trial closes. Those are documented scenarios; they should not be treated as proof that ordinary cancellation always stops—or always preserves—a running broadcast. Gyre pricing FAQ

Keep the cancellation path to Unsubscribe. Do not use account deletion as a substitute: Gyre’s terms say an account with active subscriptions also requires a cancellation request, and service provision terminates in the stated deletion cases. Gyre Terms of Service

When cancellation also involves a refund request
Stopping renewal and receiving a refund are separate outcomes. Gyre’s current pricing FAQ says a full refund may be available if you request it within 14 days of payment and your account has streamed for less than 10 hours. It directs customers to cancel and contact support. Gyre’s terms also specify that refund requests should come from the account email and include the account number and reason; they say fees may be deducted. For cancellations after 14 days, or earlier cancellations when total account stream duration exceeds 10 hours, Gyre’s terms say there is no refund and that services continue until the end of the subscription period. The FAQ similarly says that when a refund is unavailable, the subscription stays active until its duration ends. This describes service availability through the paid period; it is not an express guarantee that an individual live broadcast will run continuously for that entire time. Why the broadcast needs a separate check
Gyre’s YouTube guide says channel authorization through the YouTube API lets Gyre manage a broadcast through its lifecycle, including stopping it. The guide also says a YouTube broadcast can end roughly a minute after its encoder stops sending video to the bound stream. That explains how a broadcast may end when its video feed stops; it does not establish that cancelling a subscription itself stops the encoder. Gyre’s YouTube live-stream guide
Troubleshooting if the stream or cancellation status is unclear
- The stream has stopped: Check the status in both Gyre and YouTube, and review whether a plan change or trial closure occurred. The published documentation identifies those as situations in which active streams stop; it does not establish ordinary unsubscribe as the cause.
- You cannot tell whether cancellation took effect: Reopen Settings > Subscriptions > Active and inspect the subscription status and date shown. If the page does not make the outcome clear, contact Gyre support before the renewal date.
- You want to delete the account: Do not do that to preserve a live stream. Account deletion is distinct from unsubscribing, and Gyre’s terms require a separate cancellation request where subscriptions are active.
- You expected a refund: Contact Gyre support after submitting the cancellation request and provide the account details they request. A cancellation alone does not establish refund eligibility.
