If the exact same video starts again each day, Autoplay alone does not explain the schedule: check whether it is resuming saved progress, reopening a playlist, or being launched by a device or service routine. The cloud service and device are not specified here, so there is no reliable universal schedule setting to point you to.
First identify what “restarting” means
Watch what happens when playback begins, and note whether it starts at 0:00 or at a previous timestamp. YouTube describes Autoplay as playing another related video after the current video ends; that is different from the same video being launched again on a daily schedule.

- A different related video starts after one ends: This matches YouTube’s documented Autoplay behavior.
- The same video opens at a previous timestamp: It may be resuming saved progress. YouTube says signed-in viewers can see progress on supported devices, and a partially watched video usually resumes where viewing stopped.
- The same video starts at 0:00 at about the same time every day: Check the device or service that launches playback for a schedule, routine, startup action, or playlist. The service is unspecified, so a particular menu path cannot be established.
YouTube’s progress indicator may not update immediately; refresh the browser or feed if it looks out of date. Clearing watch history also clears progress bars. These details are described in YouTube Help’s Video progress bar.
Turn off Autoplay on the device that plays the video
YouTube settings can differ from one device to another. Repeat the check on each device where the behavior occurs.

Phone or tablet
- Open a video in the YouTube app.
- Switch Autoplay off using the control at the top of the player. YouTube also documents an Autoplay control under Settings > Autoplay on Android and iOS.
Computer
- Open a video on YouTube.
- Switch Autoplay off in the player.
Smart TV or game console
- Open the YouTube app’s Settings.
- Find Autoplay and turn it off.
While casting
- Open the queue or control bar on the connected phone or tablet.
- Switch Autoplay off there.
Google Assistant smart display
- In the Google Home app, select the display.
- Open Settings > Notifications and Digital Wellbeing > YouTube settings.
- Change Autoplay for the voice-matched user or other users, as appropriate.
YouTube Help explains that Autoplay can be on for one device and off on another, and documents these controls in Auto-play videos.
If the same video still starts each day
- Record the device, the service or app that opens YouTube, the approximate launch time, and the timestamp where playback begins.
- Check whether the video is opened directly or through a playlist.
- Inspect the launching device or service for startup behavior, schedules, routines, playlists, or resume settings.
- If it happens on several devices, compare whether they use the same signed-in account or whether each device has its own launch action.
These checks help narrow down the cause; they do not establish that watch-history syncing or any particular cloud service caused the relaunch. The exact control depends on the service and device, which have not been identified.

Do not confuse a daily relaunch with YouTube’s “Continue watching?” prompt
YouTube’s prompt is a playback pause, not evidence that a video has been scheduled to launch again. YouTube Help says that with Autoplay enabled, the prompt may appear after 30 minutes on mobile, 60 minutes on web, or 180 minutes on TV. Those are prompt timings, not daily-restart intervals.
