SpaceX is already public: its Class A common shares began trading on Nasdaq on June 12, 2026, under ticker SPCX. To buy shares now, use a brokerage that supports SPCX and permits trading in your jurisdiction. The old question of how to buy it before an IPO no longer applies.
How to buy SpaceX shares now
- Check access. Confirm with your brokerage that SPCX is available to you and that your account and location are eligible to trade it.
- Review the live quote and costs. Search for SPCX in the broker’s platform, check the current quote, and review trading fees and any relevant order settings. The $135 IPO price is historical, not a current quote.
- Read issuer information. Review SpaceX’s prospectus and current filings before deciding. The company’s SEC filing identifies Class A, Class B, and Class C common stock; consult the filings for the precise rights attached to each class.
- Choose and submit an order only after checking its details. Confirm the security, order type, quantity, and estimated cost in your brokerage before placing an order.
Broker-by-broker availability, fees, jurisdictional restrictions, and a live SPCX quote are not established here, so verify them directly with your broker and local rules.

Are pre-IPO SpaceX shares still available?
SpaceX has gone public, so do not treat a purported pre-IPO offer as the ordinary way to buy its publicly traded shares. Private secondary transactions historically depended on eligible buyers, a willing seller, share availability, and transfer restrictions, which could include a company right of first refusal. Those conditions do not establish that a current SpaceX secondary offer is available or valid.
#1 Best Overall
Be especially cautious of unsolicited claims of guaranteed access. The SEC warns that pre-IPO investing can result in losing the entire investment, that resale may be impossible, and that an offering may be illegal unless it is registered or qualifies for an exemption. Its guidance also advises checking whether a seller is registered and watching for aggressive sales tactics, social-media solicitations, and undisclosed markups. These warnings concern purported pre-IPO offers; they do not change the fact that SPCX now trades publicly. Read the SEC investor alert on pre-IPO investing.

SpaceX’s SEC filing identifies Class A, Class B, and Class C common stock and records a five-for-one split of each outstanding common share in May 2026. The filing excerpt does not provide a concise full comparison of the classes’ rights or establish what individual brokers offer to retail customers. Do not assume the classes are interchangeable; use the prospectus and current filings to check the rights associated with the specific security you are considering. SpaceX’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 records the split and discusses its common stock.
