Brazil has an official Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. To buy a game there, your Nintendo Account must be set to Brazil and your payment method must match that country. A Brazil-issued Visa or MasterCard can be used directly in the eShop. If you do not have one, buy a Brazil Nintendo eShop digital gift card from the official Nintendo Store with PIX or Boleto Bancário, then redeem the emailed 16-character code.
US-issued cards and PayPal are not supported for the Brazil storefront. Country matching also applies to redemption codes, and Nintendo says unspent eShop balance is not transferred when you change your account country.

What you need before buying
Prepare the account, console, payment method and email access before opening checkout. The Brazil storefront is tied to the country selected on the Nintendo Account, not merely to the console’s physical location.
- A Nintendo Account set to Brazil: The account country determines which eShop opens on Switch or Switch 2.
- An online console: The console must be connected to the internet to open Nintendo eShop, complete a transaction and download a game.
- A compatible payment route: Use a Visa or MasterCard issued in Brazil for direct checkout, or use PIX/Boleto Bancário to buy a digital gift card through the Brazil Nintendo Store.
- Access to the Nintendo Account email: Nintendo sends a digital gift-card code to that address after payment is completed.
- A Brazil storefront context for redemption: A Brazil eShop code should be entered while using the Brazil account/eShop.
If your account already contains eShop funds, spend them before changing the country. Nintendo states that unused balance is not carried over when the country is changed.

Three ways to buy a Brazil eShop game
The right route depends mainly on whether you have a Brazil-issued card and whether you can use a Brazilian bank-payment method. All routes ultimately deliver a digital game or eShop funds to a Brazil account.
| Route | Country and payment requirement | Delivery | Fees or exchange costs | Refund and trust considerations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Direct eShop purchase | Brazil Nintendo Account plus Brazil-issued Visa or MasterCard | Game download starts after checkout | Any conversion or issuer fee varies; no universal amount is stated by Nintendo | Nintendo digital sales are final; verify the title and account before confirming |
| Official digital gift card | Brazil Nintendo Store; PIX or Boleto Bancário | 16-character code emailed after payment confirmation | Any bank, conversion or checkout charge varies; check the final amount | Nintendo Brazil Store says digital purchases are final; use the official store and protect your email |
| Retail or point-of-sale card | Card must be for the Brazil region and sold by a legitimate retailer | Code is provided by the retailer after purchase or activation | Retail pricing and any seller fee vary; not stated as a single Nintendo-wide amount | Check the seller, denomination and region before paying; Nintendo digital sales are final |
Path A: Buy directly in the Brazil Nintendo eShop with a card
This is the shortest route when you have a payment card issued for Brazil. Nintendo’s support guidance is explicit: “The credit card you use must have been issued in the same country as the Nintendo eShop you want to use.” A US, Canadian or other foreign card can therefore be declined even if the account and console are set to Brazil.
- Set the account country to Brazil. Sign in to Nintendo Account on a phone or computer, open the account profile or settings area, and select Brazil as the country/region. Menu wording can vary slightly by account layout. If the account has an unspent balance, use it first because Nintendo does not transfer that balance between countries.
- Put the console online. On the Switch or Switch 2 HOME menu, confirm that the console has an active internet connection.
- Open the storefront. Select Nintendo eShop from HOME, then choose the user linked to the Brazil Nintendo Account.
- Find the game. Search or browse to the title and open its product page. Check that the edition, language information and price are the ones you intend to buy.
- Proceed to checkout. Select the purchase option and enter a Visa or MasterCard issued in Brazil. The card’s issuing country, rather than the country where you happen to be using the console, is what Nintendo’s rule addresses.
- Confirm the transaction. Review the account, title and total one final time, then authorize the payment. Nintendo Brazil Store digital sales are final, so there is no normal post-purchase cancellation to correct a wrong selection.
- Download the game. After a successful transaction, the title begins downloading or is added to the download queue. Keep the console online until the download completes.
If the card is rejected
First check that the card was issued in Brazil and that the Nintendo Account country is Brazil. A foreign card is not made compatible by changing the console language, using a different billing address or opening the eShop from another network. If you do not have a Brazil-issued card, use the digital gift-card route instead of repeatedly retrying an incompatible card.
Path B: Buy a Brazil digital gift card with PIX or Boleto Bancário
This route avoids entering a foreign card in the eShop. Nintendo’s Latin America support information says: “Players in Brazil can pay using Boleto Bancário or PIX.” The official Brazil Nintendo Store catalog includes Nintendo eShop digital gift cards. After the payment is processed, the code is sent to the email address associated with the Nintendo Account.
- Open the official Brazil Nintendo Store. Sign in with the Nintendo Account you intend to use, or otherwise make sure the store has the correct account email.
- Select a Nintendo eShop digital gift card. Choose the denomination shown for the Brazil storefront. Do not assume that a card for another country will work on this account.
- Select PIX or Boleto Bancário at checkout. PIX normally presents a bank-app QR payment flow; Boleto uses the payment instructions generated at checkout.
- Complete the bank payment. Follow the QR or boleto instructions exactly. Keep the payment confirmation until the code arrives.
- Wait for Nintendo’s delivery email. Nintendo sends the download code to the Nintendo Account email after payment. A boleto payment may not be confirmed immediately, so do not buy a second card simply because the first email has not arrived yet.
- Open Nintendo eShop on the console. From HOME, choose Nintendo eShop and select the Brazil-account user.
- Choose “Enter Code.” Enter the complete 16-character code from the email and confirm. Enter it in the Brazil storefront/account context; a code issued for another country can fail even when every character was typed correctly.
- Accept the balance or game credit. Once accepted, the value is added to the account. Use that balance to buy the game in Nintendo eShop and start the download.
When the gift-card email does not arrive
Check the Nintendo Account email address, spam or filtered folders, and the payment status shown by the bank. If the payment is still pending, Nintendo may not have issued the code yet. Keep the receipt and payment reference for support. Do not give a seller your Nintendo Account password to “speed up” delivery.
Path C: Buy a Brazil retail or point-of-sale card
Nintendo’s Brazil FAQ names selected retailers such as Lojas Americanas, Magazine Luiza, Submarino and Nuuvem as places where consumers may find Nintendo content cards or digital products. Stock, denominations and activation methods can change, so treat the retailer listing as the source of what is currently available.

- Digital Card balances can be shared across Nintendo Switch, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family of systems, but may only be used on a single Nintendo eShop account.
- Confirm the region before paying. The listing should clearly identify Brazil or the Brazil Nintendo eShop. A card for a different country is not a substitute.
- Check the denomination and product type. Make sure you are buying an eShop card or Nintendo digital product rather than a physical accessory or a code for another platform.
- Use a legitimate seller. Verify the retailer’s spelling, checkout domain, customer-support details and receipt. Avoid individuals who request your Nintendo Account login.
- Complete any activation step. Some point-of-sale cards are activated by the retailer at purchase; an inactive card will not redeem until that process is complete.
- Redeem the code on the Brazil account. On Switch or Switch 2, open Nintendo eShop, select the account, choose Enter Code, type the 16-character code and confirm.
Retailer terms for an unused card can differ, but Nintendo’s Brazil Store states that its digital purchases are final. Treat the purchase as irreversible until you have checked the region, denomination and account.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →How the Nintendo Account country controls the eShop
The country/region field on the Nintendo Account determines the eShop country shown on a linked Switch or Switch 2. Changing the console’s physical location, language or time zone does not change that storefront.
To use Brazil, change the country/region in the Nintendo Account profile, save the change, then reopen Nintendo eShop on the console. If the old storefront remains visible, close the eShop and start it again while the console is online. The account, rather than a guest profile, must be the one selected when eShop starts.
Balance warning before a country change
Nintendo says unspent eShop balance is not transferred when changing countries. Spend the balance first or accept that it will not be available in the new country. This is especially important if you are switching an established account to Brazil only for one purchase.
Country matching for codes and cards
Nintendo applies country matching to both payment cards and download codes. A Brazil-issued card belongs with the Brazil eShop, and a Brazil eShop code should be redeemed through the Brazil storefront/account. If a code is rejected, verify the account country and the code’s region before assuming that the characters are defective.

US and other foreign cards
Nintendo’s same-country rule means a card issued outside Brazil may not work in the Brazil eShop. The relevant test is the issuing country, not whether the card is Visa or MasterCard or whether the cardholder is physically in Brazil. Use a Brazil-issued Visa or MasterCard for direct checkout, or buy a Brazil digital gift card through PIX or Boleto Bancário.

PayPal is not listed as a payment option for the Brazil eShop or the Brazil Nintendo Store gift-card process described by Nintendo. Use the supported card, PIX or Boleto route instead.
Currency conversion and extra fees
No single conversion rate, service fee or international-card fee applies to every buyer. Review the amount shown by Nintendo and any charge displayed by your bank or card issuer before confirming. The published material does not establish a universal fee schedule, so do not rely on a percentage quoted for another country or retailer.
Game availability and release timing in Brazil
Brazil is an official Nintendo eShop market, and Nintendo says its first-party launches follow the North American release schedule. That does not guarantee that every third-party game appears at the same time or at all. Third-party publishers can omit a title from Brazil or delay its release.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCheck the individual game page in the Brazil eShop before buying a gift card for a specific title. A card adds Brazil eShop funds, but it cannot make an unavailable game appear in the catalog. Nintendo’s official FAQ does not provide a dated, independently citable total catalog count, so a precise number of available games should not be assumed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What “all sales are final” means at checkout
The Brazil Nintendo Store help information says: “All sales are final.” In practical terms, verify these items before pressing the final purchase button:
- The Nintendo Account user is the Brazil account that should receive the game or balance.
- The title is available in the Brazil storefront and is the correct edition.
- The gift-card denomination is sufficient for the intended purchase.
- The card, PIX or boleto payment details are correct.
- You understand that a code for another country may not redeem on this account.
Do not buy extra codes as a test. If a first payment is pending, wait for its status or contact the store or bank with the receipt.

Troubleshooting by symptom
The eShop still shows another country
Close Nintendo eShop, verify the Nintendo Account country/region is Brazil, and reopen eShop with that same user selected. A console can contain multiple users; changing one account does not change the country of the others.
Recommended Free Tools
The payment card is declined
Confirm the card was issued in Brazil. If it was issued elsewhere, the decline is consistent with Nintendo’s country-matching requirement. Switch to a Brazil digital gift card purchased with PIX or Boleto Bancário rather than trying different billing addresses.
“Enter Code” says the code is invalid
Re-enter all 16 characters carefully, check for a mistyped letter or number, and confirm that the code is for Brazil. Make sure the Brazil account is the active eShop user. If the retailer supplied a receipt, verify that the card was activated and has not already been redeemed.
The code email is missing
Check the Nintendo Account email, spam and filtered folders, then check whether the PIX or boleto payment is still pending. Keep the payment reference. Contact the official store or retailer using the receipt; never send your password or one-time security information to a seller.
The game cannot be found
Search the Brazil eShop directly. If the title is absent, it may be omitted or delayed by its third-party publisher. First-party launch timing follows the North American schedule, but that policy does not make every third-party release universal.

Changing countries removed access to funds
Nintendo does not transfer unspent balance between countries. If you changed the account before spending it, the balance will not follow the account to Brazil. Future changes should be planned only after the existing balance has been used.
Quick Recap
Security checks for stores and sellers
- Use the official Brazil Nintendo Store for PIX or boleto gift-card purchases whenever possible.
- For a retail card, inspect the region, denomination, activation status and receipt before leaving checkout.
- Do not share a Nintendo Account password with a retailer, code seller or “helper.” Nintendo does not require a seller to log in as you to deliver a code.
- Keep payment confirmations and the code email until the balance or game appears in the account.
- Because digital purchases are final, resolve a country or account mismatch before paying rather than trying to fix it afterward.
Which route should you choose?
- You have a Brazil-issued Visa or MasterCard: Buy the game directly in the Brazil eShop for the fastest download path.
- You can pay through a Brazilian bank but do not have a suitable card: Use the official Brazil Nintendo Store, select a digital gift card, and pay with PIX or Boleto Bancário.
- You prefer an in-person or established retail checkout: Choose a Brazil-region card from a named, legitimate retailer and redeem its 16-character code.
- You only have a foreign card or PayPal: Neither is a supported direct method for the Brazil storefront. Use a supported Brazil payment route instead of attempting to bypass the country requirement.
- You are changing an existing account to Brazil: Spend its current eShop balance first, then change the country and reopen eShop.
