Build your Monk around the skills you have actually unlocked, then adjust the attack route and defenses as new abilities arrive. Deskrawl’s Monk is a Dexterity-based martial class, but there is no established universal best leveling build: the available specialist guides describe several directions, and their advice can change with patches. A fast basic-attack setup built around Furious Fist is one documented option—not a proven winner for every character or zone.
How Monk leveling works
The Monk guide describes the class as Dexterity-based and martial. Its skills unlock in stages, so a late-game build should not be copied wholesale onto a low-level character. The table below reflects unlock levels reported by Deskrawl Wiki editors in a guide updated September 30, 2026; it is unofficial rather than an independently verified game reference. Check the current in-game skill screen, especially after a patch.

What to use as you level
Use the strongest useful attacks currently available rather than planning around a skill several levels away. Treat each unlock as a chance to compare roles in your actual rotation: the new skill may replace an existing attack, complement it, or prove awkward for your mana and survival needs.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Levels 1–14: establish an attack route
Threefold Strike is the reported level-1 basic attack. Sacred Judgment arrives at level 5 as a strong attack, and Sacred Orbs at level 10 as a special. Try the new options in ordinary fights and note which slot gives reliable damage without disrupting your resource use. Do not invest heavily in an attractive early stat solely because it helps one skill you expect to abandon.
#1 Best Overall

- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)

Levels 15–29: test Furious Fist and your rotation
Furious Fist becomes available as a basic attack at level 15, alongside Spirit Stream as a special. The Hundred Hands guide builds around Furious Fist, making this a natural point to test a fast basic-attack direction. At level 20, compare Piercing Lunge with your current strong-attack choice; Charge arrives at level 25 and may affect movement or rotation decisions. Keep the setup that works reliably for your current gear rather than forcing every new skill into it.
Levels 30–44: reassess basic, strong, and special slots
At level 30, Seismic Strike and Spirit Twin add a basic attack and special. Whirlwind Staff follows as a strong attack at level 35, then Wind Steps as a special at level 40. Recheck your rotation after each meaningful unlock: include a skill only if its contribution justifies the slot and its resource demands. The unlock list gives levels, not a universal ranking or required replacement order.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Levels 45–50: add the later options without assuming they are upgrades
Chi Bolt is listed as a basic attack and Divine Thunder as a special at level 45; Golden Palms is the level-50 strong attack. Test each against the skills you already use. A higher unlock level alone does not establish that an ability is best for your build, and patch changes can alter the comparison.
A documented build direction: Hundred Hands
The Hundred Hands guide describes a fast basic-attack route centered on Furious Fist. Its suggested supporting pieces are Dodge Chance, attack speed, Zephyr’s Flow for mana after dodges, Mirror Steps for physical damage after dodging, and the Hundred Hands set. This is guide-authored build advice, not a controlled performance test or proof that the setup is best for all Monks.

- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
Dodge can contribute both offense and mana continuity in this direction, but it does not make the character immune to damage. The guide specifically warns that ground poison and lingering area effects can still hurt. Account for health, resistance, movement, and skill choice as well as Dodge Chance; a build that deals damage quickly but repeatedly dies or retreats may not farm well.
Choose skills, talents, and runes around the whole build
Pick an attack path that matches your unlocked skills
Think in terms of basic attacks, strong attacks, and specials, then select from what your character can currently use. The Monk class guide lists Hundred Hands, Wheel of Nine Heavens, and Serpent’s Tongue as rune-set directions. Read set thresholds alongside your equipped attacks, and test the complete rotation and mana use before replacing a working defensive setup. The cited guide does not establish individual set bonuses here, so do not assume a threshold effect without checking its current in-game description.

Invest toward the next useful unlock
The Hundred Hands guide advises working toward the next useful unlock instead of maxing every appealing early stat. It also says talent resets cost gold and become increasingly expensive. That favors a coherent plan, but there is no sourced point-by-point allocation that applies across patches, gear, and character states. Spend with your current rotation in mind and avoid repeated full resets just to chase every proposed build.

How to tell whether a Monk build farms reliably
Short bursts of damage do not show whether a setup can sustain a run. Compare complete runs in similar zones and for similar lengths, using the same practical conditions where possible. Track the outcomes that affect both clear speed and uptime:
Best Value
- Multi-Platform PC Gaming Controller: Working with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices via Bluetooth, wired, and wireless dongle connections.
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Delivering enhanced recentering performance for smoother control and superior anti-drift capability. Plus, with anti-friction rings.
- 2-Way Trigger Lock: With trigger stops, gamers can toggle between short and long pull positions. Additionally, gamers can activate hair trigger mode by pressing M+LT/RT (triggers must be in the long pull position).
- 1000Hz Polling Rate: This ensures that your inputs are registered almost instantaneously, minimizing lag and maximizing your performance during competitive play.
- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
- Attack path: Which basic attacks, strong attacks, and specials are unlocked and contributing?
- Survival: How often do you die, and are Dodge, health, resistance, movement, and skill choices enough for the zone?
- Mana continuity: Can the rotation keep going, or does it stall when its resource support is unavailable?
- Interruptions: Count pauses, retreats, and returns to town rather than judging only uninterrupted damage.
- Run outcome: Compare rewards and completion over the whole run, not just a brief high-damage window.
These are comparison criteria, not published benchmark results. The available guides do not identify a universally best Monk leveling build.
Check patch changes before copying old numbers or rankings
Monk advice is patch-sensitive. An October 2, 2026 class comparison says that after version 1.0.0h, Chain Force was reworked and strong-attack behavior improved; it cautions against relying on launch-era class rankings. A surfaced Steam result for Patch 1.0.0i reported changes to several Monk skills, but its announcement date is not securely established in that feed, and later patches may have superseded those values. Confirm the live patch and in-game skill descriptions before using old damage percentages or making a current ranking claim.
The game’s Steam listing gives September 28, 2026 as its release date. That establishes the release timing, not the present state of Monk balance.
