These steps make the page eligible for consideration; they do not guarantee indexing or a particular search result.
1. Publish a public page focused on you or your organization
Create a page on a website you control or contribute to. Its visible content should primarily describe one person or organization affiliated with that website. Google’s examples include an author page on a news site, an employee page on a company site, a forum or social-media user profile, and an About Me page on a blog. A store homepage or a review page about an unrelated organization is not the documented use case for ProfilePage. Google’s ProfilePage guidance

Give the page a clear name and useful description, and make the identity information visible to visitors. Any structured data you add should accurately describe the page rather than introduce hidden or misleading details. Google’s structured data policies require markup to represent page content and follow Search policies.
2. Make sure Google can access and index the page
Google lists three minimum technical requirements for a page to be eligible for Search: Googlebot must not be blocked from crawling it, the page must return HTTP 200, and it must contain indexable content. Meeting these requirements does not mean Google will index the page. Google Search technical requirements

- Check that your
robots.txtfile does not block Googlebot from crawling the page. - Check that the page does not carry a
noindexdirective if you want it included in Search. - Confirm that the published URL loads successfully instead of returning an error.
Blocking a URL in robots.txt is not a dependable way to keep it out of Search: Google may still show the URL without crawling its contents. Google’s documented ways to keep a page out of Search include noindex or password protection. Google must be able to crawl a page to see its noindex directive, so do not block crawling if you are relying on that directive. Google’s guide to blocking Search indexing
3. Add ProfilePage structured data only when it fits
ProfilePage markup can help Google understand a page that is primarily about one person or organization affiliated with the website. It is optional; publishing an accessible profile page does not depend on adding it. Google supports JSON-LD, Microdata, and RDFa for structured data and recommends JSON-LD. The markup needs a mainEntity that identifies the subject as a Person or Organization. The entity’s name is required; Google also allows alternateName when an alternative public name or handle applies. Properties such as description, image, and profile links through sameAs are useful only when they are accurate and relevant. See the full ProfilePage property requirements and examples.

4. Validate the page and check its status in Search Console
- Validate the markup. Use Google’s Rich Results Test to check supported structured data and fix critical errors. Passing a test does not promise a rich result.
- Inspect the published URL. In Google Search Console, open URL Inspection and enter the page’s full URL. Use the report to see how Google accesses it and whether Google has identified an issue.
- Request or allow recrawling. Follow the options shown in URL Inspection if you have made changes. Google also recommends submitting a sitemap to help it learn about future changes. It may take several days after publication for Google to find and crawl a new page. Google’s ProfilePage guidance
- Use a site search only as a quick check. Search
site:example.com, replacing the example domain with yours. Google cautions that this operator may not show every URL it has indexed, so use Search Console for page-level diagnostics. Google’s documentation on the site: operator
5. Know which Google profile you mean
A website-hosted ProfilePage is your own public page about a person or organization. Google’s Search profile is a separate Google destination that brings together a creator’s content from websites and social platforms. If you claim a Search profile, Google lets you add a badge or text link to your website so visitors can find it. Google says linked content may be more likely to appear for that profile’s followers in Discover; this is not a promise that your website profile will be indexed or rank in Search. What to expect after publishing
- Google automatically looks for public pages, but it may miss some. A page that meets the technical requirements is eligible for consideration, not guaranteed indexing. Google Search technical requirements
- Correct
ProfilePagemarkup does not guarantee a rich result or any specific appearance. Google may show a standard text result or choose another presentation based on its systems and the user’s context. Google’s structured data guidelines - Give Google time to crawl the page, then use URL Inspection to diagnose access or indexing issues rather than treating a missing
site:result as a definitive status.
