To stop friend requests from everyone in MTG Arena, open Options > Account and enable Block Incoming Friend Requests. That exact setting and path come from a reproduction of the game’s 2019 version 1.03 patch notes, so the current client may use different wording or placement. For one specific player, use the separate Block action in the social blade.
Turn off incoming requests for everyone
-
Open MTG Arena and select Options.
-
Open the Account tab or section.
-
Check Block Incoming Friend Requests.
The path and checkbox label are documented in a community archive reproducing Arena’s historical 1.03 patch notes (2019 patch-note reproduction). Wizards’ newer official guidance does not confirm whether the global setting is still available at that location. If you cannot find it, check that the client is updated and inspect the current Account options; do not assume another social setting has the same effect.

Block one particular player instead
If you want to stop interacting with one person already listed as a friend, use the individual Block command in the social blade. Wizards’ August 2026 announcement says to right-click the friend on desktop or long-press their entry on mobile, then choose Block. This is a per-player action, not the global incoming-request setting. Wizards’ social-features announcement describes Block alongside Unfriend.

Offline: Wizards described this as signing out of social features, preventing messages from being sent or received and hiding which friends are online. Its description does not say it blocks friend requests.

Report misconduct through Arena’s reporting tools
Blocking is a social control; use reporting for harassment or other misconduct. Wizards’ August 2026 announcement says reports can be made from Options, a Challenge Lobby, or a friend’s list menu. Listed report reasons include inactivity, hate speech, an inappropriate username, verbal abuse, and spamming. Wizards says each report is evaluated by a person rather than actioned automatically. See the announcement for the reporting details.
