On iOS 26, open the message in Mail, tap the sender, choose View Contact Card, then tap Block this Contact. On iOS 18 and earlier, tap the sender’s name and confirm Block this Contact. The steps and blocked-sender settings differ by iOS version.

How do I block an email sender on my iPhone?

First check your iOS version at Settings > General > About if the labels below do not match what you see. Apple documents one procedure for iOS 26 and another for iOS 18 and earlier.

iOS 26

  1. Open the sender’s email in the Mail app.
  2. Tap the sender at the top of the message.
  3. Tap View Contact Card.
  4. Tap Block this Contact.

Apple says email from a blocked sender is moved to Bin, and blocking applies across your Apple devices. Apple’s iOS 26 guidance gives the current steps and blocked-mail behavior.

iOS 18 and earlier

  1. Open the email in Mail and tap the sender’s name at the top.
  2. Tap Block this Contact, then tap it again to confirm.

If the sender is marked as a VIP, remove that designation before blocking. Apple’s instructions for blocking senders in Mail cover the older steps.

  • Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
  • The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
  • Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.

Where do blocked emails go on iPhone?

On iOS 26, Apple says messages from blocked senders go to Bin. The folder name may differ in a localized interface. For older iOS versions, the cited Apple instructions do not specify the destination folder for blocked messages, so do not assume it is the same as iOS 26.

How do I manage or unblock a sender?

iOS 26

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Blocked Contacts to review or manage blocked contacts, as described in Apple’s iOS 26 guidance.

Should I block a sender or mark the message as junk?

Use Block this Contact to block a particular sender. For iCloud Mail, moving a message to Junk is a separate action that reports it as junk and helps Mail automatically mark future messages from that same sender as junk. Apple does not establish that this behavior works identically with every mail provider or third-party app.

Report an iCloud Mail message as junk

  1. Swipe left on the message.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Move to Junk.

Junk messages go to the Junk folder, not Bin. Apple says iCloud Mail messages in Junk are automatically deleted after 30 days. The workflow and retention detail are in Apple’s iCloud Mail spam guidance.

Restore a legitimate iCloud Mail message marked as junk

Open the message in Junk, tap Move to Folder, then move it to Inbox. Apple says future messages from that sender will then go to Inbox rather than being marked as junk, according to its iCloud Mail instructions.

Apple’s cited instructions explain how to block a sender, but do not guarantee that messages sent from a different address will be blocked. If unwanted messages continue from another address, use the controls available for that message or your mail provider.

Can I prevent sharing my address with new websites?

For future sign-ups, iCloud+ Hide My Email can create random, unique addresses for websites or apps so you do not have to share your personal email address. It is a privacy option for new sign-ups, not a way to block an existing sender. See Apple’s Hide My Email overview.
