Then wait for the page content your screenshot needs and call page.screenshot(). Interception is opt-in, and every intercepted request must be resolved or it will stall.
Block only requests you can identify
Enable interception before navigating. In the request handler, compare each request URL against rules for ad or analytics endpoints you intend to block. Abort matches and continue everything else. The rules below are examples for your own project, not a complete tracker list.

Choose targeted URL rules over broad blocking

Easy to express, but resource type does not tell you whether a request is an ad. Broad rules can prevent legitimate page content from loading. |
Puppeteer exposes both the request URL and resource type through HTTPRequest; neither provides a universal tracker list. Avoid blocking every script or image simply to suppress ads. That can remove application code, styling-related images, or other resources the target page relies on.

Handle interception listeners safely
Keep the handler small and ensure each unresolved request gets a resolution. When multiple listeners may handle interception, check request.isInterceptResolutionHandled() before calling abort(), continue(), or respond(). This prevents a handler from trying to resolve a request another handler has already handled.
Puppeteer supports cooperative interception priorities when all handlers opt into that mode. A legacy handler that resolves without a priority can resolve immediately, so do not assume priorities coordinate a mixture of handler styles. See the official interception guide.

Wait for the content your screenshot needs
Navigate with an appropriate condition, then wait for the page-specific element or state that must appear in the image. domcontentloaded is a useful starting point, not proof that a dynamic page has finished rendering. A page can load content after navigation or keep connections open, so a generic network-idle condition is not a universal readiness guarantee.

Troubleshoot missing content or stalled navigation
- The page never finishes loading: Check that every request reaches a resolution branch. With interception enabled, an unresolved request stalls.
- Parts of the page are missing: Review your URL rules and remove broad matches. A matching host may serve both tracking and page-critical resources.
- Ads still appear: Inspect the actual URLs in
request.url()and add rules for the endpoints used on that page. There is no universal tracker list in Puppeteer’s API. - A handler throws or another handler appears to win: Check
request.isInterceptResolutionHandled()before resolving a request, and account for whether other handlers use cooperative priorities. - The screenshot is blank or incomplete: Wait for the actual content needed, rather than relying only on a navigation lifecycle event.

No. This workflow filters browser requests for the screenshot; it does not establish that every tracking mechanism on a site has been disabled.
