How do I stop Amazon Prime from charging me after the free trial?
- Sign in to the Amazon account where you started the trial.
- Open the account’s Prime membership details and note the end date or next billing date displayed there. Trial timing and terms can vary, so use the date shown for your account rather than assuming a standard trial length.
- Use the Prime membership management controls to complete the cancellation or renewal-management flow. Read the current prompts carefully; the available choices and their effects are determined by the account flow.
- Save the confirmation Amazon displays and check the membership details again to verify the resulting status or date.

Will Amazon Prime charge me after the free trial?
A trial may be followed by a paid membership billing event. Check your own Prime membership details for the displayed end date or next billing date and the terms shown for that account. Why was I charged for Amazon Prime after cancelling?
First match the statement entry’s date and amount against Your Transactions and the billing records for memberships and subscriptions in the Amazon account. An entry may relate to a Prime membership, a separate digital subscription, or a bank authorization rather than a completed charge.

Prime membership renewal
Check the Prime membership record to see whether it shows a billing event around the statement date. Amazon says Prime membership billing may be monthly or annual, depending on the plan.
A separate digital subscription
Prime Video add-ons and other digital services, such as Kindle Unlimited, can have their own recurring charges. Amazon says a Prime Video add-on started around the same time as a Prime trial may have a different monthly billing date from the Prime membership. Prime Video: Manage Your Subscriptions

A bank authorization, not a completed charge
Amazon notes that a bank authorization can appear on a statement without being an actual charge. Compare the entry with Amazon transaction records before treating it as a completed payment.

Additional cards associated with the Amazon account may explain an unfamiliar charge. If the payment was for a recurring merchant agreement made through Amazon Pay, that is separate from a Prime membership: review the agreement in Amazon Pay’s recurring-payment controls. How do I get a refund for an Amazon Prime charge?
Do not assume that a charge after a trial or cancellation is automatically refundable. Review the policy currently shown for your account and contact Amazon through the official support path if you need help determining eligibility. The available Amazon materials do not establish a universal refund outcome.
If the transaction does not match any membership or subscription record, or you believe it is unauthorized, contact Amazon through account support. Contact your card issuer as appropriate; the outcome depends on the transaction and the issuer’s process.
