What’s actually slowing this PC down?

The safest way to extract in ARC Raiders is to plan your exit before looting, keep an escape route and stamina in reserve, and choose the extraction method that matches your risk. A regular extraction point is free but deliberately loud and visible. A key-equipped Raider Hatch is quieter and faster. The October 13–20, 2026 PvE toggle removes player-to-player damage, but it does not remove ARC machines, extraction noise, shrinking options or the danger of being reacquired after you are downed.
What the PvE toggle changes—and what it does not
ARC Raiders is built around two threats: autonomous ARC machines and other Raiders. The official game description warns players to beware of both. The temporary PvE matchmaking test, scheduled for October 13–20, 2026, lets players switch from the standard PvPvE experience to PvE servers.

On those test servers, player-to-player damage is set to zero. Stun and fire throwables also do not affect other players, and overall loot value is lower. Those rules make direct attacks impossible during the test, but they do not create a risk-free lobby. ARC enemies can still detect and attack you, extraction controls still create sound, and other players can still be present around the same objectives. The rules are temporary and may change after the survey or in a later patch, so treat the dates and behavior as test-window information rather than a permanent mode guarantee.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe most important limitation is the downed state: ARC can reacquire a downed player after an eight-second grace period. If you are knocked down, use those seconds to break line of sight and crawl toward cover, a terminal or a hatch. Do not remain in the open simply because another Raider cannot shoot you.

Plan a safe extract before you leave cover
Mark more than one exit
Open the map before committing to a loot route and identify the nearest regular extraction points, Raider Hatches, Cargo Elevators and Airshafts. Epic’s beginner guidance recommends learning these locations before you need them. A route with two possible exits is safer than one that depends on reaching a single elevator after a fight.
Note which route requires a key, which one exposes you to an arrival timer and which one can be reached if you are downed. Keep the alternatives in mind as the raid progresses; the developer says available extractions steadily diminish during a session.
Protect the items you cannot replace
Place irreplaceable loot in Safe Pocket slots as soon as you acquire it. Eliminated players lose carried equipment, while Safe Pocket contents are retained. This changes the decision you should make after a noisy encounter: once the essential item is secure, leaving early is often better than searching one more container near an extraction route.
Reserve stamina for the final approach
Sprinting drains stamina. Standing, walking and crouching restore it, while sliding does not consume stamina. Move normally while you are hidden, then spend the reserve only when crossing an exposed lane, reaching a hatch or making the final move into an elevator. Arriving at an extraction with an empty stamina bar removes your ability to reposition when ARC or another Raider appears.
Carry recovery tools
Bring healing and shield items for the final approach, not only for the loot run. If a teammate is down and the area is defensible, a Defibrillator revives faster than a manual interaction. If reviving would expose the whole squad to a machine or a watched extraction point, use the downed player’s crawl route first and revive only after reaching cover.
How to avoid PvE griefers and unnecessary contact
Do not treat a friendly signal as a guarantee
Proximity chat and emotes can communicate peaceful intent, but they do not guarantee that another Raider will remain friendly. Keep hard cover between you, preserve an exit lane and avoid standing still during the exchange. In the regular PvPvE mode, the game explicitly allows Raiders to prey on one another; the PvE test removes damage, not the need for caution around shared objectives.

Let your behavior work in your favor
The Getting Started guide says matchmaking takes earlier player behavior into account and that aggressive players are placed into more aggressive games. If your objective is a low-conflict lobby, avoid firing first and do not turn every sighting into a chase. Disengaging preserves health, ammunition and time for the extraction sequence.
Understand what creates a signal
Searching containers, breaching and operating extraction controls take time and make noise. A loud action can reveal your position to both machines and players. Before opening a container or starting an extraction, scan nearby angles, listen for movement and decide where you will retreat if the sound brings attention.
After a fight, avoid immediately creating a second noise event. Heal, reload and relocate quietly before calling an elevator or breaching another object. This gap makes it harder for an alerted enemy to connect your first sound with your extraction location.
Extraction options compared
Choose the route by balancing visibility, resources and time exposed rather than by distance alone.
| Option | Noise and visibility | Cost | Time exposed | Late-raid availability | Can a downed Raider use it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular extraction point | High visibility; controls emit a loud blaring sound and points are patrolled by ARC | No direct cost | About 45 seconds for an elevator to arrive after it is called, plus the approach and boarding | Options steadily diminish as the session continues | Yes; sources document crawling to an extraction terminal and into an arriving elevator |
| Raider Hatch | Designed as a quieter, lower-foot-traffic exit with a shorter interaction | One Raider Hatch key | Opens for approximately 10–15 seconds | More forgiving of late timing, but only where a hatch and key are available | Yes; a downed Raider can crawl to and interact with a hatch |
The developer describes main extraction points as free to use but attention-heavy for both ARC and other players. Raider Hatches trade a key for a quiet, quick exit and do not use the normal shutdown timer. Keys may be purchased, crafted or found. Historical test data reported that high-level players used Raider Hatches 40% of the time; that figure comes from the developer’s TT2 test data, whose page does not state the test year, so it is design history rather than a promise about current player behavior.

Using a regular extraction point without getting trapped
1. Approach before the final minutes
Because the elevator call takes about 45 seconds, reach the area while you still have time to scout. Waiting until the map has lost several extraction options can force you into the most visible point and remove your ability to change plans.

2. Scout the approach and the departure angles
From cover, check the route to the controls, the space around the boarding area and the nearest retreat. Regular points are patrolled, so account for ARC movement as well as possible Raider presence. Do not stand on the control panel while looking at the map; position yourself where you can break line of sight.
3. Start the call from a defensible position
Activating the controls produces a loud blaring noise. Start the sequence only after you know where you will wait during the arrival. If the area becomes unsafe, leave the control zone rather than defending the button in the open.
4. Use the arrival window deliberately
While the elevator is coming, keep cover and watch the route it must travel. Avoid container searches, breaching or unnecessary gunfire during this period. If ARC or another Raider closes in, rotate to the fallback exit you marked instead of spending all your health at the first point.

Squad members should enter together when possible. A player who remains outside to finish looting can turn a successful call into a rescue attempt, especially after the sound has attracted ARC. Once the essential loot is secured, leave rather than extending the exposure for another container.
When a Raider Hatch is the safer choice
Pay the key cost for lower exposure
A Raider Hatch remains locked until you supply a key. The key can be purchased, crafted or found, so decide before the raid whether the resource is worth reserving for an emergency exit. If your inventory contains high-value or irreplaceable items, the key may be the best use of a limited resource.
Use the short opening window
After the key is accepted, the hatch opens for approximately 10–15 seconds. Move into position before unlocking it, keep the route clear and enter without stopping to search nearby containers. The wiki records that a hatch does not use the normal shutdown timer, removing the standard waiting sequence that makes regular points so conspicuous.

Choose it when the map is closing
Hatches are designed for quieter, lower-foot-traffic extraction and are more forgiving when the raid is late. They are not universal: you still need a reachable hatch and a key. If both are available, the shorter interaction can reduce the time in which ARC or another Raider can react to your presence.
How to extract while downed
Move immediately
When downed, crawl toward the nearest terminal or hatch instead of waiting for a teammate to cross an exposed area. Sources document that downed Raiders can still interact with extraction terminals, and a beginner guide specifically notes that you can crawl into an arriving elevator.
Use the PvE grace period correctly
During the current PvE test, the eight-second ARC grace period is a movement window, not immunity. Break line of sight, get behind cover and continue toward the interaction point. ARC may reacquire you after the period ends, so spending those seconds communicating or looking for loot can end the run.
Decide between crawling and revival
If a teammate carries a Defibrillator and can reach you without crossing an exposed lane, the faster revival may be safest. If the approach is watched or ARC is closing, crawling to a terminal or hatch can be the better play. Call out the nearest route, keep the squad between you and the threat where possible, and do not force a manual revive in the open.
Preventing extract camping from ruining the run
Extraction camping is most dangerous at regular points because the call is loud, the elevator arrival is predictable and the location attracts both ARC and players. Reduce the camper’s advantage by arriving early, observing from cover and keeping a second route available.
- Approach from an angle that leaves a retreat, not from the most obvious road.
- Listen before activating the controls; a nearby search or breach can indicate that someone is already using the area.
- Call the elevator only when the squad is ready to move and has identified cover for the waiting period.
- Keep the hatch key as an alternate if the regular point becomes too exposed.
- Do not create extra noise while waiting; one loud extraction event is enough.
In the PvE toggle, another player cannot damage you, but the same noisy sequence can still bring ARC to the area. Treat the objective as contested space and leave if the machine pressure makes the boarding lane untenable.
Best Value
Squad communication that keeps an exit open
Assign one route caller
One player should call the primary extraction and the fallback. This prevents the squad from splitting between a regular point and a hatch after the map has already become dangerous.
Use short, actionable callouts
- “Regular, 45.” The elevator has been called and the squad expects roughly 45 seconds of exposure.
- “Hatch, key ready.” The quieter route is available and its resource cost is understood.
- “Down, crawling terminal.” The downed player is moving toward an interaction point rather than waiting in place.
- “ARC reacquired.” The grace period has ended or the machine has regained the player; the squad should prioritize cover.
Keep the final loot decision explicit
Before the team starts the extraction sequence, state whether the goal is simply to leave or to make one final search. Once Safe Pocket items are secured, an extra container near a loud objective should require a clear reason, not habit.
Common mistakes and the correction
“PvE means nothing can kill me.”
Correction: player damage is disabled in the test, but ARC remains lethal and can reacquire a downed player after eight seconds. Move toward cover and extraction immediately when knocked down.

Correction: regular points have no direct cost, but they broadcast your presence through patrols and a loud control sequence. Use one when you have time to scout; reserve a hatch for a quieter or later exit when its key cost is acceptable.
“I can call the elevator after one more room.”
Correction: extraction choices diminish as the session continues. Looting longer can leave only a conspicuous point and force an attention-heavy approach.
“A friendly emote guarantees cooperation.”
Correction: communicate while keeping cover and an escape lane. The game allows Raiders to prey on one another in the standard mode, and signals do not replace positioning.
“I should revive in place.”
Correction: compare the Defibrillator’s faster revive with the downed player’s ability to crawl to a terminal or hatch. Revive only when the approach is defensible; otherwise, move toward the extraction interaction.
