On PS5, Hellraiser: Revival lists accessibility controls for larger menu and HUD text, alternative colour treatments, advanced and large subtitles, per-channel volume, mono audio, stick sensitivity and inversion, and options to disable motion controls, touch controls, controller vibration, and adaptive-trigger effects. The PlayStation listing does not establish an exact in-game menu path or confirm graphics sliders such as field of view, motion blur, HDR, brightness, or contrast, so use the labels that appear in your released copy rather than relying on an assumed preset or value.
The subtitle description on the storefront is internally inconsistent: it says the game can be played without subtitles because there is no spoken dialogue, while also saying spoken dialogue is fully subtitled. Treat the listing as a feature guide, then verify subtitle behavior in the current build before starting a long session.

What the PS5 listing actually confirms
PlayStation’s 2026 product listing counts 17 accessibility features for the PS5 version. The confirmed controls fall into five practical groups:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Readability: Large Text enlarges menu and heads-up display (HUD) lettering.
- Colour discrimination: Colour Alternatives reduce the need to identify important information by colour alone.
- Hearing and audio routing: Individual Volume Controls can be reduced or muted, and Mono Audio sends the same signal through each speaker.
- Subtitles: The listing names Playable without Subtitles, Subtitles (Advanced), and Large Subtitles.
- Input and haptics: Basic stick-sensitivity and inversion options are available, and motion controls, touch controls, controller vibration, and adaptive-trigger effects can be disabled.
Those are storefront descriptors, not a complete list of menu labels, defaults, slider ranges, or button-by-button instructions. Your released build may place them under Settings, Options, Accessibility, Audio, Controls, or Display, and the names can differ slightly.
#1 Best Overall
- A New Story in Hellraiser's Canon – Unwittingly kickstart Pinhead’s ritual to unleash greater pain and pleasure than ever before.
- Harness the Power of the Box – Combine the unique, hellish abilities of the Configuration with an arsenal of earthly weapons to inflict bone-breaking, flesh-searing pain - or is it pleasure? - upon masochistic enemies.
- Fight Against Unholy Enemies – Take on hell's wretches, deviants, cultists, and even its most infernal priests in a story-driven horror survival game.
Before changing anything
- Update the game and your PS5 so you are testing the current installed build. A patch can change labels or add and remove options.
- From the title screen or pause screen, open the game’s Settings or Options area. If there is an Accessibility page, start there; otherwise inspect Display, Audio, Subtitles, and Controls separately.
- Change one setting at a time and return to gameplay or a menu where the result is easy to see. This creates a useful baseline if a combination becomes uncomfortable.
- Record your preferred values before experimenting with a reset-to-default command. The listing does not document whether every setting is preserved globally, per profile, or only for the current save.
Adjusting graphics and display readability
Use Large Text for menus and the HUD
Large Text is the confirmed visual setting for people who struggle with small interface lettering. PlayStation describes it as presenting menu and HUD text in a larger font size to make it easier to read. Open the game’s accessibility or display settings, enable Large Text, then check several contexts: the main menu, pause screen, objective or inventory screens, and the in-game HUD. Some games enlarge interface elements unevenly, so verify the screens you use most.
Large Text changes interface typography; it is not evidence of a general image-resolution or cinematic-scale change. If a subtitle line, tutorial prompt, or item description remains too small, look for a separate subtitle-size control rather than assuming Large Text affects it.
Try Colour Alternatives when colour coding is difficult
Colour Alternatives are intended to reduce reliance on colour as the only way to distinguish important information. Turn the option on, then inspect indicators that use status colours, warnings, markers, or interactive highlights. If an icon gains a pattern, shape, label, or other non-colour cue, that is the alternative treatment doing its job.

The listing does not specify which individual elements change, whether the mode has multiple variants, or whether it affects every scene. Test it in a normal gameplay area and in menus before deciding whether it improves recognition.
Graphics controls that are not confirmed
Available authoritative information does not confirm brightness, contrast, gamma, HDR, image-quality presets, motion blur, head bob, depth of field, screen shake, resolution modes, or a field-of-view slider. An independent options reference specifically treats an FOV slider as unconfirmed and separates community or demo observations from the official PS5 descriptors.
If your copy exposes one of those controls, use the on-screen explanation and preview it in a safe area. Do not assume a control exists because it is common in other horror games. Conversely, its absence is not a fault: the published PS5 feature information simply does not establish that it is included.

When the picture is still hard to read
- Keep Large Text enabled and check whether the problem is confined to subtitles, HUD elements, or the whole image.
- Use Colour Alternatives if warnings or markers disappear into the scene.
- Adjust your television or monitor’s own brightness, contrast, sharpness, and accessibility options only after checking the game. Display controls vary by screen model and can affect every PS5 game.
- Reduce room glare and sit at the distance recommended for your display. These changes do not alter the game’s rendering, but they can improve legibility without inventing unsupported in-game values.
Subtitles and caption settings
What is listed
The PS5 listing names three subtitle-related descriptors: Playable without Subtitles, Subtitles (Advanced), and Large Subtitles. Large Subtitles is the relevant choice when the lettering itself is difficult to read. Subtitles (Advanced) indicates a more detailed subtitle feature than a simple on/off switch, but the listing does not publish its individual controls, such as speaker labels, background treatment, sound descriptions, or timing options.
Resolve the storefront wording conflict in the live game
The explanatory text says players can play without subtitles because the game does not include spoken dialogue, then says spoken dialogue is fully subtitled. Those statements cannot both describe the same audio behavior in every situation. Use the released game as the authority:
- Open the subtitle or accessibility page before beginning play.
- Look for an on/off control and enable Large Subtitles if available.
- Start a scene that contains text, dialogue, or a scripted event and confirm whether captions appear.
- Check whether non-dialogue sounds, speaker identification, or environmental cues are captioned; the listing does not guarantee any of these.
- If no spoken lines occur, do not infer that the subtitle toggle is broken. The storefront may be describing a game with little or no spoken dialogue while still advertising subtitle support for any speech that does occur.
If you cannot find a subtitle switch
Search the game’s Accessibility, Audio, and Display pages rather than looking only under Graphics. Some interfaces place subtitle size next to text-size options, while others keep it with audio. If Large Subtitles is present but ordinary subtitles are not, test a scene with text or dialogue to determine the build’s behavior. Because no official menu path or default is published, a missing label should be reported to the game’s support channel with your platform, game version, and the exact screen where you looked.

Audio: separate channels or use mono output
Individual volume controls
Volume Controls allow separate audio categories to be turned down or muted. The listing does not state the category names or their default levels, so use the labels shown in your build. Lower the category that masks speech or important cues while leaving other sounds unchanged, then test the result during both quiet exploration and a loud encounter.
Make changes gradually. Muting a category can remove information you rely on, and the game may not provide an independent reset for one channel. If a control is expressed as a slider, note its starting position before changing it.

Mono Audio for one-sided or uneven hearing
Mono Audio sends the same output through each speaker. It can prevent a sound mixed mainly to the left or right channel from being missed when you use one ear, have uneven hearing, or are playing through a speaker arrangement with unreliable channel separation. Enable it in the game’s audio or accessibility area, then test with headphones and speakers because the perceived result can differ between setups.
Best Value
Controls, sensitivity, and inversion
Stick sensitivity
PlayStation confirms that some stick-sensitivity options are provided. The listing does not state the number of axes, scale, dead-zone behavior, or minimum and maximum values. Adjust the available sensitivity setting in small increments and test both slow camera movement and rapid turns. If the camera feels twitchy, reduce sensitivity; if it cannot keep up with a quick turn, increase it.
Stick inversion
Basic stick inversion is supported. Choose the axis and direction that match your established control habit, then verify it in a safe area before entering a difficult encounter. If the game exposes only a broad inversion switch, it may not offer separate vertical and horizontal choices; use the exact controls shown on screen.
Motion and touch controls
The listing confirms that the game can be played without motion controls and without touch controls. If either input method causes accidental actions or discomfort, disable it in Controls or Accessibility and verify that every required action remains available through buttons and sticks.

Controller vibration and adaptive-trigger effects can both be turned off. These are separate functions: disabling vibration does not necessarily remove trigger resistance, and disabling adaptive triggers does not necessarily silence all vibration. Switch each one off individually, then test aiming, movement, and interactions.
- Open the game’s Controls or Accessibility settings.
- Turn off the vibration option, apply the change if the menu asks, and test the controller.
- Turn off adaptive-trigger effects separately and test trigger travel during an interaction that normally adds resistance.
- If haptics continue, check the PS5 controller settings as well as the game. System-level behavior can affect more than one title, while an in-game toggle is specific to Hellraiser: Revival.
Recommended combinations by need
| Need | Start with | Then verify |
|---|---|---|
| Small interface text | Large Text and Large Subtitles | Menus, HUD, and a subtitle-bearing scene |
| Difficulty distinguishing colours | Colour Alternatives | Status indicators, warnings, and markers in gameplay |
| Uneven hearing or one-sided listening | Mono Audio and individually adjusted volumes | Headphones and speakers at your normal listening level |
| Camera feels too fast or too slow | Stick sensitivity | Slow aiming and rapid turns |
| Established inverted-stick preference | Basic stick inversion | Vertical and horizontal movement, if separately offered |
| Motion or haptic intolerance | Disable motion controls, touch controls, vibration, and adaptive triggers as needed | Every action that previously used those inputs |
Settings that remain unconfirmed
The available official information does not establish an exact graphics menu route, default values, slider ranges, or the presence of FOV, motion-blur, head-bob, HDR, brightness, contrast, gamma, or quality presets. It also does not specify subtitle defaults, subtitle language coverage, caption categories, audio-channel names, or whether settings are shared across saves. Treat any such control as build-specific until you can see and test it in your copy.
First-session checklist
- Enable Large Text if menus or HUD elements are difficult to read.
- Enable Large Subtitles if subtitle lettering needs to be bigger, then verify it in an actual scene.
- Use Colour Alternatives when colour alone is not a reliable cue.
- Set individual volumes before deciding whether a sound is missing.
- Enable Mono Audio when left/right separation is difficult to hear.
- Set stick sensitivity and inversion before a demanding sequence.
- Disable motion controls, touch controls, vibration, or adaptive triggers that cause discomfort.
- Do not search indefinitely for an FOV or motion-blur slider that the published PS5 information does not confirm.
These controls let you tailor readability, colour cues, audio routing, input response, and haptics without guessing at undocumented graphics presets. For anything beyond the confirmed options, the settings visible in your updated PS5 build are the reliable source.
