In Streamlabs, open Chat Box settings in the Dashboard and enable Show Viewer’s Platform Icon. Streamlabs says the icon appears beside a chatter’s name to show which platform they are watching from. Its support article associates the feature with Streamlabs Ultra, so check the current plan details if your Dashboard does not show the option.
Turn on platform icons in Streamlabs
- Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and open the Chat Box settings.
- Find and enable Show Viewer’s Platform Icon. Streamlabs’ support instructions say this is the control for displaying the icon; the documented requirement is Streamlabs Ultra membership for multistreaming and this feature. The article was published March 7, 2023, and lists April 25, 2025 as its last update, so confirm current plan eligibility if the control is unavailable.
- Check the live preview or overlay to see whether the icon appears beside a chatter’s name.
- In the widget’s platform settings, confirm that the connected platforms whose chat you want to include are selected.
Understand the related Chat Box controls
A platform icon, platform inclusion, and a chat badge do different jobs:

- Platform inclusion determines which connected platforms’ chat appears in the overlay. Streamlabs’ Chat Box guide lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and X.
- Platform icon identifies the platform from which a chatter is watching by placing an icon beside their name.
- Badges identify roles or subscriptions. They are separate from platform icons; the overlay guide lists badge display and platform selection as distinct settings.
The overlay guide also describes appearance controls such as style, extra emotes, font color, and font size. Changing those visual settings is separate from enabling the platform icon.

If the platform-icon option is missing
Streamlabs’ platform-icon article does not give a definitive troubleshooting procedure for a missing control. First check the Dashboard’s current feature availability and plan eligibility: the documented setup associates the checkbox with Streamlabs Ultra. The article’s stated last update is April 25, 2025, so plan terms or Dashboard labels may have changed since then. If eligibility appears correct but the setting is still absent, consult current Streamlabs support rather than assuming a particular cause.
