You can start a fundraiser through YouTube Studio if your channel has access to YouTube Giving: go to Earn > Giving, choose an eligible nonprofit, set up the campaign, attach videos or a scheduled livestream, and publish. Access is conditional, and YouTube Giving fundraisers are for eligible U.S. public charities. If the Giving tab is unavailable, you can instead link an external fundraising page from a video end screen.
Check whether your channel can use YouTube Giving
In YouTube Studio, open Earn > Giving. YouTube’s help documentation, accessed October 3, 2026, lists these requirements for creator access:

- Your channel is based in a location where YouTube Giving is supported. Check YouTube’s current location list before planning a campaign, because availability can change.
- Your channel has at least 10,000 subscribers.
- Your channel is part of the YouTube Partner Program.
- Your channel is not designated Made for Kids.
YouTube notes that some channels may see fundraising access outside these stated criteria. The Studio tab is the practical check for your account; do not assume access based on subscriber count alone.

Create and publish the fundraiser
- Open the setup flow: In Studio, select Earn > Giving, then choose Get started > Create a fundraiser.
- Choose the nonprofit: Select an eligible U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity. If it is not listed, use Request a nonprofit. YouTube says a request for an eligible charity can take up to five business days to process.
- Enter the campaign details: Add a title and description. You may add collaborators, set a fundraising goal, and choose a duration. YouTube says these details can be changed later.
- Attach content: Add videos or scheduled livestreams that will be part of the fundraiser.
- Publish: Review the details and publish the fundraiser. The Donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date. It will not appear on content designated Made for Kids.
Choose a nonprofit and understand where donations go
YouTube Giving recipients must be U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charities. YouTube’s nonprofit requirements also include being requested by a creator, participating in Google for Nonprofits, opting into online fundraising through GuideStar, and complying with YouTube monetization policies and Community Guidelines. Check the current YouTube nonprofit guidance if a charity is missing or its eligibility is unclear.

YouTube says 100% of donations go to the nonprofit and that YouTube covers transaction fees. Google uses Network for Good to collect and distribute donations. YouTube says distributions are typically monthly; totals under $10 are disbursed annually. Its nonprofit help page says a transfer may take up to two months, so do not promise donors an immediate payout to the charity.
Network for Good has exclusive legal control over donations it receives, as required by U.S. IRS rules. If it cannot distribute the funds to the charity selected by a creator, it may direct them to another qualified U.S. nonprofit. This is an important distinction when explaining the recipient and payment flow to supporters.

Run the fundraiser during a livestream
Attach a scheduled livestream to the fundraiser during setup. With live chat enabled, viewers can use Live Chat Donations. YouTube turns off Super Chat and Super Stickers on these streams to avoid confusion. Adding a fundraiser does not affect ads, while Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.
- Schedule and attach the livestream before the campaign begins, then confirm the fundraiser’s start date so viewers know when the Donate button should appear.
- Enable live chat if you want viewers to use Live Chat Donations.
- Explain clearly which nonprofit the fundraiser supports and direct viewers to the native Donate button.
If YouTube Giving is not available
You can link an external fundraising page from a video end screen. YouTube names GoFundMe and JustGiving as examples of approved third-party fundraising sites. Check the chosen platform’s current terms, fees, recipient availability, and tax or receipt rules yourself; YouTube’s guidance does not establish those details for external services.

You can also create original videos and pledge revenue from specific videos to a nonprofit. Be precise about what revenue you intend to donate, and keep records of the donation. YouTube says it does not verify whether a creator’s pledged funds reach a nonprofit. Its guidance warns: “Don’t make false claims about donating to the organization or nonprofit.”
Do not ask viewers to repeatedly watch videos or click ads to increase a donation; YouTube says this violates its Fake Engagement policy. Using work created by someone else can also result in copyright claims. For a fundraiser built around a third-party page, make the destination and your role in handling any pledged funds unmistakable.

Manage or remove a campaign
Use the Giving tab in Studio to monitor and edit the fundraiser. You can adjust campaign details or the goal, or delete the fundraiser, which removes its Donate button. If a button is missing, first check that the campaign has reached its start date and that the content is not designated Made for Kids.
