Check that your GM vehicle and Samsung phone are eligible
Compatibility depends on both the vehicle and the phone. GM is rolling out Digital Key in phases and says owners will receive a notification in the vehicle app when the feature becomes available. A model-year listing is not proof that Digital Key has been activated for your individual vehicle; check the app first.

Vehicles in GM’s announced rollout
GM’s September 23, 2026 announcement listed these vehicles for its initial Cadillac rollout: 2025–2027 LYRIQ, 2026–2027 OPTIQ, and 2027 VISTIQ. GM said availability would expand in December to 2026–2027 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban; 2026–2027 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL; and 2027 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade IQ/IQL, and CELESTIQ. These are announced rollout phases, not a guarantee that every listed vehicle is enabled when you check. See GM’s Digital Key announcement.

GM describes support by device families: Galaxy S21+ 5G or newer, Note20 or newer, and Galaxy Z Fold and Z TriFold models. Cadillac’s more detailed list names supported examples, including Galaxy S21+ 5G and S21 Ultra 5G; Note20 Ultra 5G; S22, S23, S24, and S25 Plus and Ultra models; Z Fold2 through Fold7, including listed Fold6 variants; and Z TriFold. Cadillac says A-series and FE devices are not supported. Because family-level shorthand can hide exclusions, check Cadillac’s current device list and the vehicle app for your exact phone and vehicle.

Cadillac calls for the latest vehicle app and operating system. Its support page currently names iOS 26 and Android 16; those references can change and should not be treated as universal minimum OS requirements for every GM vehicle.
Prepare before pairing
- Install or update the app for your vehicle’s make, then sign in. Cadillac owners use myCadillac; other GM brands may use a different app.
- Bring the physical key fob and the compatible Samsung phone into the vehicle.
- For Cadillac’s documented flow, turn on Bluetooth, close the doors, and make sure the vehicle is on and in PARK.
- For the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the owner’s manual says Digital Key is available only after accepting OnStar terms and conditions.
Add the key from the vehicle app
- Open the vehicle app and sign in. Use the app associated with your vehicle.
- Open Digital Key setup. In myCadillac, tap “Add key to device Wallet” on the home tile. If it is not shown, tap More (the four-circles icon), then Vehicle Settings > Keys > Add key. On some vehicles, Vehicle Settings is under a gear icon.
- Follow the app’s pairing prompts. Keep the phone and physical fob in the vehicle. For Cadillac, keep Bluetooth on, the vehicle on and in PARK, and the doors closed. App labels and paths can differ by make and model year, so follow the prompts shown for your vehicle.
- Check for completion. After successful pairing, the key should appear in Samsung Wallet.
- Test it before relying on it. Cadillac recommends trying the digital key after exiting: lock, unlock, or start the vehicle without the physical fob.
For the 2026 Tahoe and Suburban, the manual gives a different app route: pair through the OnStar account in myChevrolet under Controls > Keys. See the Chevrolet owner’s manuals and guides for the vehicle-specific instructions.

What the digital key can do
GM says Digital Key can support walk-up unlocking, walk-away locking, trunk access, and climate controls through the digital wallet. GM also describes sharing a key with up to seven additional devices. The available functions may vary by vehicle and software. The 2026 Tahoe and Suburban manual describes passive entry, rear-compartment access, and starting when the enabled device is present.

A weak phone battery or signal interference can prevent detection. On the 2026 Tahoe and Suburban, the display may show “NO KEY FOUND” or “NO REMOTE KEY WAS DETECTED, PLACE KEY IN KEY POCKET THEN START YOUR VEHICLE.” The manual recommends checking these conditions:

- Move closer to the vehicle and remove obstructions.
- Make sure the phone is powered on, Bluetooth is enabled, and its operating system is current.
- Hold the phone in your hand, away from your body and pointed toward the vehicle; body position can affect signal conditions.
- Keep the physical fob available as a backup while troubleshooting.
