ReGLOSS: CROSS is best understood as a deterministic routing puzzle, not an anime jigsaw. You choose a direction for ReGLOSS members, each character travels in a straight line until a dead end, and a pair is cleared when members of the same color meet. Warp Panels and switch-controlled Signs add route-planning constraints. That makes it mechanically closer to a compact movement-logic game than to image-assembly puzzles, Sokoban box pushing, or nonogram games.
The game has five regular stages, three extra stages and 70 puzzles in total, according to a CCMC announcement dated September 24, 2026. Steam lists a Windows 10 minimum requirement, English and Japanese support, and a $3.99 price; the CCMC announcement gives a planned price of 490 yen. Those figures should be treated as storefront- and region-specific rather than as one universal price.

What you actually do in ReGLOSS: CROSS
Steam describes ReGLOSS: CROSS as a single-player 2D puzzle game in which you help members of ReGLOSS meet safely after running late. The control scheme is intentionally small: select a direction, and the chosen members move that way. They do not stop after one tile; they continue in a straight line until a dead end. You are therefore planning the result of a movement command rather than directly steering a character through every square.
A pair is cleared when two members of the same color meet. The puzzle is solved by arranging those movements so that the correct characters arrive at the same location without creating an unrecoverable position. Because movement follows fixed rules, each level behaves like a deterministic logic problem: the useful question is not “What feels right?” but “Where will every character stop after this direction?”

Warp Panels
Warp Panels teleport characters. They change the endpoint that would otherwise be produced by a straight-line move, so a route that looks blocked may connect to a distant section of the board. Before committing to a direction, account for both the panel’s entry point and its destination; a teleport can help one color pair while separating another.
Switch-controlled Signs
Signs are initially constraints on movement. They become passable after a switch is activated, adding an order-of-operations problem to the routing challenge. A switch may need to be reached before a later movement can work, so solving a stage involves identifying which barriers are permanent and which are state-dependent.
Rising stage difficulty
Steam says difficulty increases through the stages. The available descriptions establish the progression but do not provide a standardized rating, completion-time study or equivalent difficulty data for competing games. Expect later boards to combine the movement rule with more demanding positioning, warps and switch timing rather than assuming that every puzzle introduces a wholly new system.

How its mechanics differ from other anime-style 2D puzzle games
| Game | Puzzle operation | Goal condition | Content structure | Presentation and identity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ReGLOSS: CROSS | Choose directions for characters that continue moving until a dead end; use warps and opened Signs to control routes. | Bring members of the same color together. | Fixed authored stages: five regular and three extra stages, 70 puzzles total. | ReGLOSS characters, anime presentation and music context wrapped around a movement-logic game. |
| Anime Girl Puzzles | Assemble a 2D jigsaw image. | Complete the picture. | Image-based puzzle set and gallery-style reward structure. | The completed anime image is the primary motivation and payoff. |
| Pushing POPO | Move and push boxes in a Sokoban-like system; later mechanics include a bow. | Arrange boxes to secure a path to the goal. | Authored stages that build on box-pushing rules and added mechanics. | Anime-styled characters support a conventional spatial-pushing challenge. |
| Jupiter’s Juufuutei Raden’s Guide to Pixel Museum | Deduce nonogram rows and columns. | Fill the grid to reveal pixel art. | Nonogram progression with unlockable explanatory material. | Completed pixel art unlocks voiced explanations about art, culture and crafts. |
The table shows why “anime puzzle game” is too broad a category to predict how ReGLOSS: CROSS plays. The visual style is shared, but the operation and success test are different in each case.

ReGLOSS: CROSS versus anime jigsaw games
In an anime jigsaw such as Anime Girl Puzzles, the pieces are fragments of a picture. Progress is measured by assembling those fragments until the image is recognizable or complete. The appeal is partly visual: finishing a puzzle reveals an illustration.
ReGLOSS: CROSS uses characters as active pieces in a route-planning problem. You are not rotating fragments, matching edge shapes or revealing a gallery image. You are predicting motion and coordinating same-color meetings. The anime presentation gives the board a cast and atmosphere, but the completion reward is the successful route itself.
Which player should choose which?
- Choose ReGLOSS: CROSS if you enjoy short, rule-driven boards where one directional decision changes several characters’ positions.
- Choose an anime jigsaw if your priority is assembling and viewing finished illustrations, with spatial recognition doing most of the work.
- Do not use the number of images or gallery unlocks in a jigsaw game to estimate ReGLOSS: CROSS’s content; its advertised content is a count of authored logic puzzles.
ReGLOSS: CROSS versus Sokoban-like games
Pushing POPO represents the Sokoban branch of the comparison. In a Sokoban-like puzzle, the player’s key action is pushing boxes. A push is usually irreversible or difficult to undo, and the objective is to place boxes so that a route to the goal is secured. Pushing POPO also adds a bow later, indicating a progression from basic box movement to additional interaction.
ReGLOSS: CROSS has no box-pushing objective in the cited Steam description. Its central action is selecting a direction for continuously moving characters. The stopping rule, same-color pairing, Warp Panels and Signs controlled by switches create a different kind of constraint. A Sokoban player asks, “Where can I push this box without blocking the board?” A ReGLOSS: CROSS player asks, “Where will every member stop or teleport after this command, and which same-color pair can that produce?”

Why the distinction matters
Both games reward planning, but their mistakes have different causes. In Sokoban, a box can occupy a critical square and permanently cut off access. In ReGLOSS: CROSS, a direction can send several members to endpoints that make the required pairing impossible, or can interact with a warp or unopened Sign in an unexpected order. Familiarity with Sokoban may help with thinking ahead, but it does not make the games interchangeable.
ReGLOSS: CROSS versus nonograms and Pixel Museum
Jupiter’s Juufuutei Raden’s Guide to Pixel Museum is another ReGLOSS-related puzzle release, but its core is nonogram deduction. You use row and column clues to determine which cells are filled. Completing a grid creates pixel art, and solved puzzles unlock voiced explanations about art, culture and crafts.
That makes Pixel Museum an image-completion and educational presentation. ReGLOSS: CROSS is movement-oriented: the board state changes through directional commands, and the target is a meeting between matching colors. Pixel Museum asks you to infer a static pattern from numerical clues; ReGLOSS: CROSS asks you to simulate a sequence of actions in a changing layout.

- ReGLOSS: CROSS: progress is through fixed stages and extra stages, with the stated total reaching 70 puzzles.
- Pixel Museum: progress combines nonogram completion, newly revealed pixel art and voiced explanatory content.
- Anime jigsaws: progress is commonly tied to completed images or a gallery, rather than a movement-rule campaign.
These structures also produce different reasons to continue. ReGLOSS: CROSS is aimed at solving the next authored logic board; Pixel Museum adds cultural context to the act of solving; a jigsaw places the finished illustration at the center.

How much content is in ReGLOSS: CROSS?
CCMC’s September 24, 2026 announcement lists eight stages overall: five regular stages and three extra stages, containing 70 puzzles. The announcement identifies the game as a one-player PC release on Steam with Japanese and English support. It does not publish an average puzzle length, an estimated campaign duration or a completion-time comparison with the other games discussed here.
That distinction is important when judging value. “70 puzzles” tells you the amount of authored content, not how many hours it will occupy. A player who solves routing boards quickly may finish sooner than a player who explores every movement possibility, while a Sokoban or nonogram game with a different puzzle count may take longer per board. No equivalent playtime measurements are established for this comparison.
Price, platform and language details
The Steam listing currently gives Windows 10 as the minimum operating system and lists English and Japanese for the interface and subtitles. It shows a $3.99 purchase price. CCMC’s announcement gives a planned price of 490 yen. Store prices can vary by region, tax and currency conversion, and the two figures are associated with different sources and contexts; check the Steam store in your region before purchasing.
| Detail | Published information | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | PC via Steam | Windows 10 is the listed minimum operating system. |
| Players | One player | No multiplayer mode is identified in the cited announcement or Steam description. |
| Languages | English and Japanese | Steam lists these for interface and subtitles. |
| Puzzles | 70 total | Five regular stages plus three extra stages, as announced by CCMC on September 24, 2026. |
| Price | $3.99 on Steam; 490 yen in the CCMC announcement | These are source- and market-specific figures, not a guaranteed worldwide equivalent. |
What is known about difficulty and reception
The official Steam description says difficulty increases through the stages, and the listed mechanics provide a clear basis for that progression. However, there is not enough independent measurement to rank ReGLOSS: CROSS as easier or harder than the jigsaws, Sokoban-like games or nonograms above. Puzzle difficulty depends on whether a player is comfortable with deterministic movement, box pushing, visual assembly or clue-based deduction.
Best Value
Reception evidence is also limited. At the time checked, Steam displayed only two user reviews and no generated score. That is too small a sample for a reliable review consensus. Treat the mechanic and content information as established facts, but do not interpret the current review count as proof that the game is universally praised or criticized.
Is ReGLOSS: CROSS worth buying?
It is a good fit when
- You want a focused, single-player logic game built around planning movement rather than reflexes.
- You like the ReGLOSS characters and want them integrated into the puzzle board instead of used only as artwork.
- You prefer a clearly bounded set of authored challenges: 70 puzzles across regular and extra stages.
- You are comfortable buying on the basis of mechanics and official specifications while independent review evidence is still sparse.
Consider another format when
- You mainly want to reveal and collect anime illustrations; an anime jigsaw is a more direct match.
- You specifically enjoy pushing boxes and managing irreversible placements; a Sokoban-like game such as Pushing POPO targets that interaction.
- You prefer numerical deduction, pixel-art reveals and educational voice content; Pixel Museum’s nonogram structure is closer.
- You need a long campaign, replayable systems or a well-established critical consensus; the available information does not establish those advantages for ReGLOSS: CROSS.
Bottom line
ReGLOSS: CROSS occupies a distinct space among anime-style 2D puzzle games. Its anime identity and ReGLOSS cast frame a deterministic routing system in which characters move to dead ends, matching colors must meet, Warp Panels relocate pieces and switches make Signs passable. Anime jigsaws center on assembling images, Sokoban-like games center on pushing boxes, and Pixel Museum centers on nonogram deduction and pixel-art explanations.
With 70 announced puzzles, English and Japanese support, a Windows 10 Steam release and a low listed digital price, it is a compact option for players who want movement logic with anime character context. The sensible buying decision is therefore mechanic-first: choose it for directional routing and staged challenges, not because the broad label “anime puzzle” guarantees a jigsaw, Sokoban or nonogram experience.
