Bandai Namco’s October 2026 notice lists an update file for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but says the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam figures include the complete game as well. The comparison table below shows exactly what each number means.
Launch v2.0.0 storage figures by platform
These are Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s approximate storage requirements for the launch version 2.0.0 information available in October 2026. “Update file” means the published figure is presented as the update download itself. “Main game included” means the number covers the game package as well, so it should not be treated as a patch-only size.

| Platform | Published amount | What the amount represents |
|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Approximately 7 GB | Includes the main game |
| Nintendo Switch | Approximately 300 MB | Listed as the update file size |
| PlayStation 5 | Approximately 500 MB | Listed as the update file size |
| PlayStation 4 | Approximately 1.3 GB | Listed as the update file size |
| Xbox Series X|S | Approximately 8 GB | Includes the main game |
| Steam | Approximately 7 GB | Includes the main game |
The most important distinction is therefore between the approximately 300 MB, 500 MB and 1.3 GB entries and the larger 7 GB or 8 GB entries. The latter are not evidence of a 7 GB or 8 GB day-one patch on top of an already installed copy; Bandai Namco explicitly says that they include the base game.

What “update size” means on each platform
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch entry is approximately 300 MB and is described as the update file size. If the game is already installed, this is the figure to use when checking whether the console can download version 2.0.0. The update still needs temporary working room while the system downloads and applies it, so having only a few megabytes beyond the published amount can be risky. The published number is approximate rather than a guarantee of an identical byte count on every console.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Nintendo-Switch (NOT Nintendo-Switch 2)
- Incredible speeds in a microSD card officially licensed for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo OLED, and Nintendo Switch Lite systems
- Spend less time waiting and more time playing with read speeds up to 100MB/s(1) and write speeds up to 90MB/s(1).
- Instantly add up to 256GB (1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. Actual user storage less.)
- Store your downloaded games, screenshots and video captures in 1 place so you can travel light.
Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 is listed at approximately 7 GB, but this figure includes the main game. It should be treated as the storage requirement for obtaining the game package associated with the launch release, not as a 7 GB patch that must be added to an existing Switch 2 installation. If a copy is already present, the console may show a different amount for the data it actually needs to replace or download.
PlayStation 5
PlayStation 5 is listed at approximately 500 MB as the update file size. That is substantially smaller than the complete-game figures reported for Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The console may reserve additional working space during installation, so check the free-space figure in system storage before starting rather than relying on the download number alone.
PlayStation 4
PlayStation 4 is listed at approximately 1.3 GB for the update file. This is larger than the PS5 figure, but it is still presented as an update amount rather than a full-game requirement. Storage needs can differ between console generations because the packages and installed files are built separately.

- EASY CONTENT MANAGEMENT. Easily back up, organize, and transfer your photos and videos with the SANDISK Memory Zone desktop or Android mobile app[5].
Xbox Series X|S
Xbox Series X|S is listed at approximately 8 GB, and Bandai Namco says that the main game is included. Do not interpret the figure as an 8 GB patch for a separately installed copy. The amount is the publisher’s package-level storage figure for this release information.
Steam
Steam is listed at approximately 7 GB with the main game included. Separately, Steam’s current system-requirements listing calls for 8 GB of available storage. Those figures answer slightly different questions: the publisher’s number describes the launch package, while Steam’s requirement is the platform’s stated free-space allowance. Keep the larger 8 GB requirement in mind when preparing a PC, because the operating system and Steam may need room beyond the compressed download itself while files are unpacked and installed.
How much space the game itself uses on Nintendo hardware
Nintendo’s official store estimates the game file size at 5.2 GB for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. That estimate is the game’s listed file size, not a promise that every update will add 5.2 GB or that an update can always be calculated by simple addition.

- Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
- Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.
File replacement, compression and temporary installation data can change the amount of free space required at a particular moment. For that reason, use the platform-specific figure in the table for the download, then leave additional free capacity instead of filling the card or internal storage to the exact last megabyte. Nintendo also notes that more or less free space may be required.
What version 2.0.0 adds
The launch notice identifies three changes in version 2.0.0:
- A Japanese-language font-style option is added.
- Titles are added to the carryover elements for a second and later playthrough.
- Bugs in some text are fixed.
An internet connection is required to apply the update. The connection requirement applies to installing the update data; it does not change the storage figures in the table.

How to prepare before downloading
- Identify the exact platform. Confirm whether the game is on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S or Steam. The numbers are not interchangeable.
- Check free storage in the platform’s storage settings. Look at internal storage first, then check the installed microSD card or other supported storage if the platform uses one. Record the available amount before opening the game.
- Match the check to the table’s interpretation. For Switch, PS5 and PS4, compare free space with the listed update amount and retain extra room for installation. For Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, plan around a complete-game figure rather than assuming an existing installation will make the download small.
- Connect to the internet. Bandai Namco states that an internet connection is required to apply version 2.0.0. A stable connection reduces the chance of a partial download or an interrupted installation.
- Start the update or installation from the platform’s normal game-management screen. Let the system finish downloading and applying the data before launching the game. Interrupting the process can leave the title waiting for the update to complete.
- Recheck storage after installation. The final occupied space can differ from the download amount because temporary files are removed and existing files may be replaced.
What to do when there is not enough free space
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
Nintendo advises deleting software or inserting a microSD card with enough capacity when free space is insufficient. Deleting software is different from deleting save data, but check the confirmation screen carefully before accepting any removal. If you use a microSD card, ensure it is recognized by the console and has more free space than the published requirement, not merely the same rounded number.
PlayStation and Xbox
Use the console’s storage-management tools to remove or move games and other large files you no longer need, then check the free-space total again. Keep saved data and game installations separate in your decision: remove only content you can restore or redownload, and verify what the system is asking you to delete before confirming.

Steam’s stated requirement is 8 GB of available storage. If the drive is close to full, uninstall an unused game or move a library item to another supported drive before beginning. A download can fail even when the compressed package appears to fit if the drive cannot also accommodate unpacking and installation work.

Why the numbers are so different
There are three reasons the table should not be read as a single universal patch size.
- Different package contents: Bandai Namco includes the complete game in the Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam figures, while the Switch, PS5 and PS4 entries are presented as update-file amounts.
- Different platform builds: Each console generation and PC release uses its own files and packaging. A PS4 package therefore does not have to match a PS5 package, even when both contain the same game content.
- Approximation and installation overhead: The figures are approximate, and the system can need temporary space while it verifies, unpacks or replaces files.
These differences are normal for multi-platform releases. A larger published figure does not by itself indicate that one version has more playable content.
Do you need to reserve the full amount if the game is already installed?
Not necessarily. For the platforms whose figures are labeled as update files, an existing installation is the context assumed by the notice. For the platforms whose figures include the main game, the published amount is not a reliable prediction of the incremental download for every pre-existing installation.
The safest approach is to follow the amount shown by the platform’s own download prompt and keep additional free space available. If the prompt reports a smaller incremental download, that is the console or Steam client’s current calculation for your installation. If it reports the full package, free enough storage for that package before proceeding.
Can later patches change these figures?
Yes. The amounts above describe the launch version 2.0.0 information available in October 2026. Later patches can replace files, add content or alter the package layout, so a future update notice may show different values. When a later notice conflicts with the launch figures, use the newer platform-specific notice and the live download prompt.
Quick decision guide
| If you are using… | Use this planning rule |
|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch | Plan for the approximately 300 MB update, plus installation headroom; Nintendo estimates the game itself at 5.2 GB. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Plan around the approximately 7 GB figure because it includes the main game. |
| PlayStation 5 | Plan for the approximately 500 MB update and additional temporary room. |
| PlayStation 4 | Plan for the approximately 1.3 GB update and additional temporary room. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Plan around the approximately 8 GB figure because it includes the main game. |
| Steam | Keep at least the platform’s stated 8 GB available; the publisher’s approximately 7 GB figure includes the main game. |
In short, the answer depends on whether you mean a patch for an installed copy or the storage needed for the complete launch package. Check the row for your platform, preserve some headroom, and remember that an internet connection is required to apply version 2.0.0.
