The standard HONOR Magic9 is listed in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. For most buyers, 512GB is the flexible middle choice; 256GB can suit lighter users who regularly offload files, while 1TB is worth considering if you keep a large library of photos, videos, games, or offline downloads on your phone. These are usage-based suggestions, not tested minimum requirements.
HONOR Magic9 storage options
HONOR’s China specification lists four RAM-and-storage combinations for the standard Magic9. The 512GB storage tier is available with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM; RAM and storage are different specifications, so compare the full combination when checking a listing.

These configurations come from HONOR’s China specification, not a confirmed worldwide lineup. Which capacity should you choose?
Choose 256GB if you routinely manage files
The 256GB version is a reasonable starting point if you mainly stream entertainment, keep a moderate number of apps, and are comfortable backing up, deleting, or moving large files off the phone. It is less suitable if you expect to keep years of photos and video, large games, and offline downloads together without regular cleanup.
#1 Best Overall
- EXPAND YOUR STORAGE. Insert your card to add massive storage up to 1.5TB[1] to your Android smartphones and tablets, digital cameras, and laptops.
- SPACE FOR MORE. With expansive capacities up to 1.5TB[1], capture and store hours of Full HD video[4], movies, music, games, photos, and podcasts.
- MOVE FILES FAST. Use your card with the SANDISK QuickFlow microSD UHS-I Card USB-A Reader[6] to achieve up to 195MB/s[2] read speeds [128GB-1.5TB models] and offload your content fast.
- LOAD APPS IN A SNAP. Rated A1[3], the SANDISK Ultra microSD card is optimized for faster app launch and overall app performance.
- EASY CONTENT MANAGEMENT. Easily back up, organize, and transfer your photos and videos with the SANDISK Memory Zone desktop or Android mobile app[5].
Choose 512GB for more breathing room
Consider 512GB if you take and retain plenty of photos or video, install several large games, download media for travel, or simply prefer not to clear space often. It is the practical middle tier for someone who wants more headroom than 256GB without selecting the largest listed capacity.
Consider 1TB for a long-term local library
The 1TB option is the largest listed configuration and is worth considering if you expect to keep a large amount of media and other large files on the phone for a long time. It is not automatically necessary for a long ownership period: your backup habits and how much content you retain matter as much as how long you keep the device.

- How long do you expect to keep the phone before replacing it, and what is the price difference between capacities in your market?
There is no device-specific photo count, video count, or tested capacity threshold established for the Magic9’s camera formats. Treat the tiers as choices for your habits, not promises about how many files each one holds.
Advertised storage is not all free for your files
The capacity figures are manufacturer-listed storage, not a promise that every advertised gigabyte will be available for personal content. HONOR’s specification notes, in translation, that usable capacity is lower because phone software occupies some space. It does not state the initial free-space figure, so a precise usable-capacity estimate cannot be given from that specification.
Check the exact model before ordering
Before purchase, confirm both the storage capacity and RAM combination on the seller’s page, and make sure it is the standard Magic9 in your region. The China specification establishes the listed configurations there; a Benelux listing is evidence only for that regional shop. An Android Central report about planned international rollout concerned the Pro Max, not confirmation of standard Magic9 availability. The cited materials also do not establish whether the Magic9 supports microSD or another storage-expansion method, so do not assume expansion is available.
