How YouTube calculates the Super Chat share
YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers guidance says creators receive 70% of the revenue confirmed by Google. The calculation is made after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube’s broader partner earnings overview describes the Commerce Product Module share as 70% of net revenue from channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks. It explains that transaction taxes such as sales tax, VAT, and GST are not revenue to Google and are excluded from the partner revenue-share calculation. In practical terms, YouTube retains roughly 30% of the qualifying revenue pool after the stated deductions, not necessarily 30% of the viewer’s full displayed payment. YouTube’s official pages do not give a worked India-specific receipt example or state a separate rate for India.

Is Super Chat available to creators in India?
Yes. India is listed among the locations where eligible creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers. Availability still depends on the creator, the stream, and the video meeting YouTube’s requirements. YouTube Help: Super Chat & Super Stickers eligibility, availability, and policies
When a video or stream may not be eligible
YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted, and private videos; made-for-kids videos; streams with YouTube Giving fundraisers; and videos without live chat as cases where Supers are unavailable. Creators must also meet fan-funding requirements, live in a supported location, and accept and comply with applicable terms, including the Commerce Product Module.

How to check your own terms and reported Supers revenue
- Review your agreement: In YouTube Studio, go to Settings → Agreements → View agreement to check the revenue-share terms that apply to you.
- Review Supers reporting: In YouTube Studio Analytics, go to Revenue → How you make money to see Supers reporting.
YouTube’s general guidance says creators may owe taxes in their country or region of residence and directs them to local tax authorities. The platform share does not establish an individual creator’s Indian income-tax or GST treatment, or their after-tax take-home income.
