Across the catalog, games list between 1 and 16 active players, while Lie Swatter supports 1–100. Most titles accommodate 3–8 active players. Many also offer a separate audience that can watch and participate without taking an active-player seat; official Party Pack pages advertise audiences of up to 10,000 for supported games.
Remote play works by having one person run the game and share its screen in a video call or stream. Everyone else joins from a phone, tablet, laptop, or another web-enabled device used as a controller. Jackbox describes this setup for Zoom calls and Twitch streams, but the games remain local multiplayer: there is no built-in online matchmaking.

Active players and audience members are different
An active player submits answers, draws, votes, or otherwise takes a turn in the game. The minimum and maximum in the table below apply only to those active seats. If a title lists audience support, additional people can join as spectators who may still vote or influence results, depending on that game’s rules.
Party Pack ownership does not raise a title’s limit. A pack may contain one game for 1–4 players and another for 3–8, so check the individual game before inviting a group. The catalog’s normal upper bound is 16 active players, reached by Bracketeering. Lie Swatter is the outlier at 1–100 active players.

Choosing a game for your group size
One to two people
Only a few titles accept a single active player: You Don’t Know Jack Classic Pack, You Don’t Know Jack 2015, Bomb Corp., Trivia Murder Party, Zeeple Dome, Trivia Murder Party 2, Quixort, Timejinx, and Dodo Re Mi. For exactly two players, add Fibbage, Fibbage XL, Word Spud, Fibbage 2, Guesspionage, Fibbage 3, Blather ‘Round, The Wheel of Enormous Proportions, The Poll Mine, Fibbage 4, and The Jackbox Survey Scramble.
Three to eight people
This is the catalog’s main target. Most drawing, caption, trivia, and party games start at three and top out at eight. If your group has fewer than the listed minimum, the game will not accept enough active entries, although an audience-enabled title may still let additional people watch.
Nine or more active players
For nine, choose Roomerang, Dodo Re Mi, or one of the 10-player options: Push The Button, Drawful Animate, Job Job, The Poll Mine, Quixort, or The Jackbox Survey Scramble. Bracketeering is the choice for 11–16 active players. For a crowd larger than 16, use a title’s audience mode rather than trying to make everyone an active player; Lie Swatter is the only listed game that allows up to 100 active players.

When audience mode matters
Audience support appears on most recent titles, but not all. It is absent from every game marked “No” in the table, including Fibbage, Drawful, Lie Swatter, Push The Button, and Zeeple Dome. In an audience-enabled game, people beyond the active cap can join without replacing an active player.
How remote Jackbox play works
Remote play is a shared-screen arrangement. One host launches the purchased game, then transmits that game window through a video call or live stream. Jackbox describes its games as suitable for a “Zoom call” or “Twitch stream.” Every participant uses a phone, tablet, laptop, or other web-enabled device as the controller; no dedicated gamepad is required.
Host setup
- Install and launch the chosen game on the host’s computer or console.
- Start the game and leave its room or joining information visible on the shared screen.
- Open the video-conferencing call or streaming session and share the game window or display. Share system audio when the platform offers that option.
- Tell participants whether they should join as active players or as the audience, then begin the round after the correct number of entries appears.
What remote participants need
Each remote participant needs an internet-connected device with a web browser or other supported web access. The device is the input surface for answers and votes; the game itself runs on the host’s machine. In this arrangement, the host supplies the game, while participants supply their own web-enabled devices and connection to the call or stream.

- 1) The say-anything threequel Quiplash 3 (3-8 players). It's a head-to-head battle of the wits as you give hilarious responses to quirky prompts while everyone else votes for their favorite!
- 2) The collaborative chaos game The Devils and the Details (3-8 players). You're a family of devils working together to survive in suburbia. Can you handle the daily torture of human life?
- 3) The drawing fighting game Champ’d Up (3-8 players). Create absurd characters that will battle over unusual titles. Can you take down the heavy favorite?
- 4) The on-the-spot public-speaking game Talking Points (3-8 players). Give a speech responding to picture slides you’ve never seen before or be the Assistant and approve pictures as fast as you can. Just keep talking whether it makes sense or not.
- 5) The pop culture guessing game Blather Round (2-6 players). Describe your secret prompt with a very limited vocabulary and hope that someone can figure it out in time. It’s a “GOOD” “FUN TIME” “EXPERIENCE.”
Keeping the shared screen usable
- Use the game window rather than the entire desktop when the conferencing service supports window sharing.
- Keep the room code and prompts large enough to read on a phone-sized video tile.
- Have players mute the call microphone while the game is speaking, then unmute for discussion.
- For a public stream, use the game’s audience setting and stream delay controls where available so answers are not revealed before submissions close.
Remote-play limits and trade-offs
Jackbox calls these games local multiplayer because the authoritative game session runs in one place. A remote group therefore depends on one host’s copy, one shared video feed, and a stable connection for everyone. There is no Jackbox matchmaking service that automatically pairs strangers or creates a separate online lobby.

Screen sharing also introduces a timing difference: participants may see the prompt a little later than the host, while their controller submissions travel back over their own connections. Start the round only after everyone can see the room and has joined. If a person disconnects, they can normally rejoin through the same displayed joining process, provided the game is still accepting players.
Audience size: what “up to 10,000” means
Audience capacity is separate from the active-player number. Official Party Pack pages advertise audiences of up to 10,000 on supported titles. That figure describes the game’s advertised audience ceiling, not a guarantee that every video-call or streaming platform will carry 10,000 simultaneous viewers. The title must list audience support, and the host still needs a distribution method capable of showing the game to that crowd.
Rank #4
- The threequel to the party game phenomenon features the deadly quiz show Trivia Murder Party, the say-anything sequel Quiplash 2, the surprising survey game Guesspionage, the t-shirt slugfest Tee K.O., and the sneaky trickster game Fakin’ It.
Audience members can watch and, where the title uses audience voting or reactions, influence the result without consuming one of the active seats. If a game has no audience mode, everyone who participates must fit within its active-player range.

A player cannot join
- Check that the selected title has not reached its active-player maximum.
- Confirm whether the person is trying to join as an audience member when the title lists no audience support.
- Ask the player to use the joining instructions shown on the shared game screen from a current web-enabled device.
The screen is visible but audio is missing
Video-call hosts must share system or tab audio as well as video; otherwise participants see prompts but hear none of the game’s instructions. If the call echoes, have everyone mute the call microphone and use voice chat only when discussing answers.

Pause before starting the round until all active players confirm that the shared screen is readable. A stream delay can make the audience view the game later than the host, so allow extra time for audience participation rather than treating a late submission as a controller failure.

The group is too large for active play
Move overflow participants to the audience when the title supports it. For a title without audience mode, choose a game with a higher active cap, such as Bracketeering for up to 16 or Lie Swatter for up to 100, instead of exceeding the listed limit.
Bottom line for planning a session
Count the people who will actively answer first, then select a title whose minimum and maximum contain that number. Add everyone else as an audience member only when the table says audience support is available. For remote play, designate one host to run the game and share its screen; every other person joins from a web-enabled device, and nobody needs a separate controller or a matchmaking account.
