Meta does not publish a fixed timeline for automatically deleting a Facebook account it has disabled. A disabled account is not automatically in the 30-day deletion window: that period applies when the account owner requests deletion. If your account is disabled, log in and follow the appeal instructions shown on screen; Meta’s cited guidance does not give a general appeal decision deadline.
What happens to a disabled Facebook account?
Being disabled and being deleted are different account states. Meta’s Help Center treats deactivation and deletion as separate actions, and deletion is a process the owner initiates through account settings. The guidance does not establish that Meta will automatically delete every disabled account after a set number of days.

For a disabled account, Facebook directs the owner to log in and follow the appeal instructions displayed on the account screen. The cited instruction appears in guidance about copyright-related content removal, so it should not be read as a promise that every type of disabled account follows the same review process or gets a decision by a particular date. Facebook Help Center: appeal the removal of content for copyright reasons.
What do the 30-day and 90-day periods mean?
Both figures concern a deletion request made by the account owner. They do not tell you how long a Meta-disabled account will remain disabled.

| Period | What Meta says it applies to |
|---|---|
| 30 days | Under the cited Facebook Help Center page, an owner can cancel a deletion request by logging in within 30 days. Meta says the cancellation period varies by region, and the page does not state its publication year. This is not a disabled-account deletion deadline. |
| Up to 90 days | Meta says it may take up to 90 days from the start of the deletion process to remove all posted content. This is not an estimate for an appeal or for automatic deletion of a disabled account. |
During deletion, Meta says the information is not accessible to other Facebook users. It also cautions that copies may remain in backup storage after 90 days, including for disaster recovery or to address software errors or data loss. Information may also be retained for legal issues, terms violations, or harm prevention. Some messages may remain visible in friends’ inboxes. Facebook Help Center: permanently delete your Facebook account.
What to do if Facebook disabled your account
- Log in to Facebook. Use the account associated with the disabled profile.
- Read the on-screen notice and follow its appeal instructions. The available steps depend on what Facebook displays for your account.
- Do not treat 30 days as an appeal deadline or deletion countdown. The cited guidance gives no general appeal-resolution timeframe or automatic deletion date for disabled accounts.

- Move and talk freely with Smart Camera: With Smart Camera, you don’t have to worry about being out of frame. Whether you’re moving around the kitchen, prepping dinner or chasing the kids through the living room, Smart Camera adjusts to follow the action. And as more people enter a room, Smart Camera automatically widens to keep everyone in view, so you don’t miss a moment
- Private by design: Facebook doesn't listen to, view or keep the contents of your Portal video calls. Calls on Portal are encrypted, so conversations stay between you and those you're calling. You can also completely disable the camera and microphone with a single tap, or block the camera lens with the camera cover provided
- Connect with friends, even if they don't have Portal: Easily call friends and family on Messenger — calls can be made seamlessly to and from smartphones and tablets. And you can bring up to six other people into a group call
- Alexa built-in: Portal has Alexa built-in, so you can ask a question, set a timer, add items to your shopping list, control your smart home or more. Just ask
- Experience more together: With Portal, story time will never be the same. With music, animation and augmented reality effects, Portal lets you become some of your children’s favorite characters as you read along to well-loved stories. And if friends or family also have Portal, you can listen to your favorite music together as if you were in the same room, without delays or feedback
