Prepared deli chicken wings keep for 3 to 4 days in a refrigerator at 40°F (4°C) or below, if you refrigerate them promptly. Treat them like other cooked poultry leftovers. If they sat out too long, discard them; if you will not eat them within four days, freeze them.
When is the 3-to-4-day window safe to use?
FoodSafety.gov lists cooked meat or poultry leftovers for 3 to 4 days in a refrigerator held at 40°F (4°C) or below. Prepared deli wings fall under this general cooked-poultry guidance; the chart does not give deli wings a separate storage period. The Cold Food Storage Chart was last reviewed September 19, 2023.

Start the clock when the wings are prepared or purchased, and refrigerate them within 2 hours. If the surrounding temperature is above 90°F, such as at an outdoor gathering or in a hot car, refrigerate within 1 hour. - Refrigerated promptly and kept cold: Eat within 3 to 4 days.
- Left out past the 2-hour limit, or past 1 hour above 90°F: Discard them. Reheating does not undo unsafe time-temperature handling.
- Not planning to eat them within four days: Freeze them promptly rather than letting them sit in the refrigerator longer.

How can you tell whether your refrigerator is cold enough?
Keep the refrigerator at or below 40°F (4°C). An appliance thermometer can confirm the actual temperature; the refrigerator’s setting alone may not show how cold it is. The freezer should be at or below 0°F (-18°C), according to FoodSafety.gov’s storage guidance.
How should you reheat leftover wings?
Reheat leftovers to 165°F throughout and use a food thermometer to check. Reheat only the portion you plan to eat. FoodSafety.gov specifies 165°F for leftovers in its Game Day Food Safety Tips and safe minimum internal temperatures chart. Do not use reheating to try to rescue wings that were left out too long or whose storage history is unclear.

How long can you keep the wings frozen?
At 0°F (-18°C) or below, the federal chart gives cooked meat or poultry leftovers a freezer storage period of 2 to 6 months for best quality. The chart notes that food kept continuously frozen remains safe indefinitely; the time range is about quality, not a safety cutoff. See the Cold Food Storage Chart.

Does deli packaging change the answer?
For opened wings, wings served at a meal, or wings brought home as leftovers, use the 3-to-4-day cooked-poultry rule. If the wings are in a commercially packaged product with a more restrictive storage instruction on its label, follow the label. Deli origin alone does not establish a different storage window.

If you are unsure how long the wings were unrefrigerated or whether they stayed cold, discard them. Smell, taste, and appearance cannot reliably establish that they are safe.
