They do not become permanent-pool members, but any card you already obtained stays on your account. A player who missed a card must wait for an officially announced rerun or another eligible gacha that lists it.
Event missions also close with the event. If you earned a mission reward but did not claim it, the game sends it to your Gift Box after the event ends. The exact availability of an old card depends on the server, the collaboration, and SEGA/Colorful Palette’s later gacha announcements.

What changes when the collaboration event ends?
The collaboration gacha closes
Every collaboration gacha has a stated opening and closing window. During that window, the featured cards appear in the banner’s lineup and can be pulled with the game’s currency. Once the closing time passes, that specific banner stops accepting new pulls and its cards are no longer obtainable from it.
Official event notices use the same separation throughout an event: event points can be exchanged for event rewards, while collaboration-limited cards are offered through a time-bounded gacha. The event story or exchange shop may have its own deadlines, so do not treat the story’s continued presence as proof that the card banner remains active.
Collaboration cards are not added to the permanent pool
The official FAQ defines permanent members as ★2, ★3 and ★4 members that are not excluded by a limited category. Its exclusions include period-limited, Colorful Festival-limited, Bloom Festival-limited, Birthday-limited, collaboration-limited and unit-event-limited members. Collaboration cards therefore remain a limited category after their event; they do not quietly convert into ordinary permanent members when the banner expires.
Cards you own remain yours
Ending a banner changes the supply of new copies, not the ownership of cards already obtained. A collaboration member stays in your account’s member inventory and can continue to be trained, placed in teams and used wherever the game permits that member. There is no expiration step that removes the card simply because the promotional period ended.
What happens to event missions and rewards?
Show Missions end with the event
Event Show Missions are valid only during their corresponding event. Their objectives and claim period follow the event cycle, so a mission that was not completed before the deadline cannot be progressed afterward. This is separate from the gacha: a card may remain in your account while the event’s mission interface has already closed.

Unclaimed rewards go to the Gift Box
The SEGA Help Center’s Event Show Missions guidance says that all unclaimed rewards are sent to the Gift Box after the event ends. Bonus Missions follow the same close-and-deliver pattern: their bonus cycle ends or resets with the event, and rewards you earned but did not collect are delivered to the Gift Box. Open the Gift Box before assuming a reward was lost.

Gift Box delivery applies to rewards that the game records as earned. It does not reopen a finished mission, restore an uncompleted objective or extend the gacha’s appearance window.
Can a missed collaboration card return?
A named collaboration rerun
Yes, a collaboration can receive a separately announced rerun. For example, SEGA announced a Project Sekai × Sanrio Characters collaboration gacha rerun on February 5, 2026. That announcement is evidence that the collaboration can return, not a promise that every other collaboration will receive the same treatment.

SEGA also announced a Project Sekai × Ensemble Stars!! collaboration gacha rerun on April 13, 2026. A notice like this is the controlling information for the rerun: it identifies the collaboration, the service that receives it and the dates on which the replacement banner operates.

An eligible later gacha
The official FAQ says that some past gachas may be rerun irregularly. A card can therefore reappear in a later eligible banner instead of the original event banner. The FAQ also explains that, after limited members reappear in a Recollection Festival Gacha, the original limited-time gacha will not be rerun by itself. In practice, check the exact banner details rather than searching only for the old event name.
There is no universal one-year rule
Official information does not establish a guaranteed return exactly one year after release. Reruns depend on publisher scheduling, collaboration licensing and the server or region receiving the notice. Fan-maintained calendars can help you watch for possibilities, but they are predictions; use the in-game News and the banner’s details screen before spending crystals.
How to check whether an old card is available now
- Open News. Search the in-game News list for the collaboration name and terms such as “rerun” or “復刻.” Read the full notice, including its start and end times.
- Confirm the service and region. Global and Japanese schedules can differ, and another regional service may have a different card list or deadline. Follow the notice issued for the server on which your account plays.
- Open the current gacha’s Details or Appearance Rates. Verify the exact members listed in the banner. A collaboration name in a headline is not enough if the card you want is absent from the appearance-rate list.
- Check the exchange deadline. If the rerun offers an exchange system, note when exchange closes. The pull period and the exchange period can have different end times.
- Identify the banner type. Determine whether the card is in a dedicated collaboration rerun, a broader rerun gacha or a Recollection Festival Gacha. The route affects which other cards appear and whether the original banner can return.
- Review your inventory. If you already own the member, there is no need to wait for a rerun to keep using that copy. A rerun matters when you want a missed card, another copy or a different listed item.
How to evaluate a rerun announcement
Use the following checks before pulling. Each one answers a different source of confusion that commonly leads players to spend currency on the wrong banner.

What Version 4.0.0 changed about rerun scheduling
The official Version 4.0.0 notes from SEGA/Colorful Palette provide useful policy context. Beginning in October 2025, the number of limited-gacha rerun types was reduced from three per month to two per month. That change describes the rerun schedule as a whole; it does not turn every collaboration into a scheduled monthly return.

It also says the reappearance policy for past Birthday and Anniversary Limited Time Characters was still to be announced. Those notes should not be read as a guarantee that a particular collaboration card appears in the yearly gacha. The card still has to be included in the official lineup and the Appearance Rates screen for your service.

Common situations after an event
You missed the card and the event story is still readable
Story access and card access are separate systems. A readable story does not place its collaboration members in the permanent pool and does not keep the old banner open. Look for a rerun notice and confirm the card in the current banner details.
You pulled the card before the deadline
The member remains in your account after the event. You do not need to perform a transfer or claim an additional ownership reward when the banner closes.
You completed a mission but forgot to claim the reward
Check the Gift Box after the event ends. Event Show Mission and Bonus Mission guidance states that unclaimed earned rewards are sent there. If the objective was never completed, Gift Box delivery does not create a reward retroactively.

You found a fan calendar promising a return date
Treat the date as an estimate. Only an official News notice and the in-game gacha details establish that a card is actually available on your server. Licensing arrangements and publisher scheduling can change a predicted date or prevent a particular collaboration from returning.

What “limited” means for long-term planning
Limited status affects future access, not the card’s basic place in your account. Save currency only when an official banner confirms the member you want, because an unrelated rerun may contain different limited cards. When a notice arrives, compare its card list, dates and exchange rules with your own target rather than assuming that every card from the original event has been restored.
For returning players, the practical order is straightforward: inspect News, confirm the correct server, read Appearance Rates, record the closing and exchange deadlines, and check the Gift Box for completed event rewards. This process distinguishes a genuine rerun from a story rerun, a similarly named banner or a prediction that has not become an offer.
