What the base game’s missions are designed to do
IO Interactive describes 007 First Light’s campaign as Bond’s journey from recruit to field agent. Its missions use different locations and objectives to support stealth, investigation, bluffing, gadgets, and direct action. The studio’s examples include a covert operation at a chess tournament in Slovakia and an infiltration of a London gala. These are the publisher’s descriptions of the campaign, rather than independent gameplay findings. IO Interactive’s game overview and its launch announcement describe the range of approaches and settings.

The base game also launched with Tactical Simulation, or TacSim: a separate MI6-facility mode for scored missions and challenges with progression rewards. Players could already revisit challenge-style content and try different approaches before Extended Operations. The update expands that mode and adds new rules for replaying the campaign; it is not the first source of replay-focused play. IO Interactive’s overview introduces TacSim.

Released October 1, 2026 as free DLC and version 1.3.0, Extended Operations adds five TacSim activities: four Valhalla Protocol driving missions and one Jungle Heist operation. They are not new campaign chapters. The update also includes New Game+, Photo Mode, 00 difficulty, weapon-handling animation improvements, and more than 700 fixes and improvements, according to IO Interactive’s Extended Operations announcement and version 1.3.0 notes.

Valhalla Protocol: driving and scores
The four Valhalla Protocol missions take place in Slovakia and feature the Aston Martin Valhalla. They offer day and night driving challenges, with car weapons, targets, time bonuses, and high scores at the center. Their emphasis is on vehicle combat and performance, not on advancing the campaign’s narrative. IO Interactive lists the four missions and their features.
Jungle Heist: a focused infiltration
Jungle Heist sends Bond to The Pearl resort in Vietnam to infiltrate a guarded villa and recover documents. The publisher says the entire property, including its rooftop, is available to explore, and that the villa interior was redesigned to create richer stealth opportunities. IO Interactive also says attempts can differ. Although this operation is closer to the campaign’s infiltration style than the driving missions are, it is still a TacSim scenario, not a continuation of the story. The update announcement describes the operation.

How the campaign replay rules change
New Game+ changes how players can approach existing campaign content rather than adding missions to it. It unlocks after completing the campaign. Players can restart from the beginning or from a completed checkpoint, retain access to unlocked outfits and gadgets, and change gadgets during a mission. Gadget availability still follows story progression. IO Interactive’s update details explain the unlock and carryover rules.

00 difficulty raises the stakes
New Game+ also unlocks 00 difficulty, which IO Interactive describes as the hardest setting. Enemies react faster, some guards are replaced by tougher variants, and gadgets are restricted when used in a guard’s line of sight. Combat allows little margin for error: enemies can kill Bond in two hits, and parry and side-step timing is tighter. Once New Game+ is unlocked, players can also combine custom outfits and gadget flexibility with other difficulty settings. These are replay conditions for campaign missions, not separate missions. The official announcement gives the 00 rules.
