Connect your LG phone to Wi-Fi, then look for Wi-Fi Calling in Settings or in the Phone app’s call settings and follow the activation prompts. The exact menu and eligibility depend on the LG model, carrier software, and wireless plan; not every LG phone or carrier supports the feature.
What Wi-Fi Calling does
Wi-Fi Calling lets a supported phone carry calls over an available Wi-Fi network. It can help when cellular reception is weak or unavailable. LG’s H918 T-Mobile user guide describes using it to improve coverage and make calls over Wi-Fi when a network is available: LG H918 user guide and support. AT&T’s LG Neon Plus information also describes calls and texts over Wi-Fi when cellular coverage is limited or unavailable: AT&T LG Neon Plus support.

Before you turn it on
- Connect the phone to a working Wi-Fi network.
- Check the phone’s exact model and carrier variant. Menu locations differ between LG devices and carrier software.
- Confirm that your carrier supports Wi-Fi Calling for both the device and your plan. The available official instructions cited here are selected US examples, not a complete eligibility list for every device, plan, or region.
Find the Wi-Fi Calling setting
Start in Settings and search for Wi-Fi Calling if your phone offers Settings search. Otherwise, check the likely paths below; use the one matching your model and carrier build.

These are model-specific paths, not interchangeable instructions for every LG phone. The G6 path is documented in the LG G6 Sprint LS993 user guide; the H918 path is in the LG H918 T-Mobile user guide; and the Q70 path is in AT&T’s LG Q70 support instructions.

Activate Wi-Fi Calling
- Open the Wi-Fi Calling control using the path for your device, or search Settings for the feature.
- Switch Wi-Fi Calling on and follow the prompts shown on the phone.
- If your carrier requests an emergency address, enter it and verify or update it as prompted. AT&T’s Q70 instructions make this step conditional, so follow your carrier’s instructions rather than assuming every setup will ask.
- Check the phone’s Wi-Fi Calling status indicator. On the Sprint LG G6 LS993 manual, the status bar indicates when Wi-Fi Calling is active or configured but not currently connected to Wi-Fi. Other LG models may use different labels or indicators.
If the setting is missing or will not turn on
Check the device and carrier variant
Confirm the model number and which carrier supplied or configured the phone. The setting may appear in a different menu, or the carrier build may not offer it.
Ask the carrier about eligibility
AT&T’s LG Q70 instructions say: “If this option is not present on your device, or cannot be enabled, your carrier’s network or your specific cellular plan might not support this feature.” Contact your carrier to verify support for that model and plan; a missing setting alone does not establish that the phone is broken. For one model-specific example, AT&T lists Wi-Fi internet and a postpaid AT&T wireless account provisioned with HD Voice for the Neon Plus. Those conditions apply to that example, not every LG phone or carrier.

Confirm Wi-Fi connectivity and complete prompts
Make sure the phone is connected to working Wi-Fi, then reopen the setting and complete any activation or address prompts. Menu wording and status indicators vary by model and carrier software.
