What NordVPN can—and cannot—do for Netflix US
A VPN can make a device or network appear to connect from another location. That is different from changing the country of your Netflix account or guaranteeing access to a particular catalog. Netflix says each country has its own catalog and that VPN use may limit what you can watch to titles available worldwide. Netflix’s VPN guidance explains these restrictions.

Netflix also says VPNs are unsupported for live events and for viewers using its ad-supported experience. If either applies, do not expect a US VPN connection to provide supported access. NordVPN has a Netflix troubleshooting guide, but its existence is not a promise that Netflix will recognize every server or maintain a US catalog.
How to try connecting to Netflix US
You need an active NordVPN subscription and a device on which you can install or use the service. NordVPN’s getting-started guide describes the general process; exact menus depend on the operating system.

- Download and install the NordVPN app for your device, then sign in with your Nord Account credentials.
- In the app, select the United States or a US server and wait until the app indicates that the VPN connection is active.
- Open or reload Netflix and check which titles are available. A US connection does not guarantee that the US catalog will appear.
NordVPN lists apps or setup guidance for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Android TV, iOS, tvOS, browser extensions, and Fire TV. Router setup is another option when a device is unsupported or when more than ten devices are involved; it is not a requirement for an ordinary single-device attempt. What to do if Netflix detects the VPN
Work through these checks in order. They may help resolve a connection or region-display issue, but none guarantees access to Netflix US.

- Verify the VPN connection. Check that NordVPN reports a connected status. NordVPN also recommends checking for a DNS leak with its DNS leak test.
- Reconnect to another US server. Close Netflix, connect to a different NordVPN server in the same country, then reopen Netflix.
- Check for region-display issues. NordVPN suggests connecting to the desired server and creating a new Netflix profile to prompt a region update. Its guide cautions that frequently switching regions on one profile can lock the visible region; treat this as provider troubleshooting advice, not a guaranteed fix.
- Check DNS and protection features. DNS over HTTPS (also called Secure DNS) or a third-party web-protection service may interfere. NordVPN advises testing with certain protection features disabled.
- Use the steps for your device. NordVPN says iOS users may need to reinstall the Netflix app rather than clear its cache. For Android, its guide includes cache-clearing instructions.
- Follow Netflix’s guidance if the warning remains. Netflix says a VPN or proxy can trigger a regional warning and advises turning it off if problems persist. VPN on or off: which should you use?

Netflix says your account country changes only if you move; connecting through a VPN does not itself change the account’s home country. If you have moved, consult Netflix’s explanation of account country and catalog availability.

Use the service within its terms
NordVPN’s troubleshooting page says using its service to bypass regulatory or judicial measures, or for illegal activity, violates its terms and tells users to follow applicable laws and service terms. The legal position can depend on jurisdiction and circumstances; do not treat a VPN as permission to disregard local rules or Netflix’s terms.
