Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Switch the mouse on and read its battery-status LED against the guide for that exact model. Logitech does not use one universal signal. A red light means low on some mice, a blinking light means low on others, and some models show nothing unless you check software. The reliable method is to identify the model first, then match what the light does to that model’s official instructions.
Identify your exact mouse model first
Turn the mouse over and read the label on the underside, which carries the model number (for example, M535, MX Master, G305, G903, or M750). If you use Logitech Options or Logi Options+ on your computer, the connected device also appears there with its model name. Use that model name, not the product family, when you look up the battery guide. A “G305” and a “G304” can behave differently, and an M-series mouse may not match an MX-series guide.

Compare the LED signal with your model’s guide
Most Logitech mice show battery status when they are switched on, then turn the lights off to save power. The table below lists the signals Logitech documents for specific models. Where a cell says “not stated,” the official page for that model did not describe that condition, so do not guess.
| Model (as named in Logitech’s guide) | What the light shows | Low-battery signal | Recharge or replace |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Logitech example chart | Three green = 100%; two green = 66%; one green = 33%; one red = 10% | One green (33%) and one red (10%) | Not stated in the chart; check the model guide |
| M535, M336, M337 | Top LED stays lit about 10 seconds after power-on; solid green = good | Blinking red = low | Solid red = replace the battery |
| MX Master | Three green = fully charged; two green = good | One green = low | One red = recharge |
| G304, G305 | Red = below 15%; red blinks for 30 seconds after switching on | Red blinking | Not stated |
| G602 | Flashing light-blue LED = low battery | Flashing light-blue | Not stated; battery status is also shown in Logitech Gaming Software |
| G900, G903 | Battery level shows for seven seconds at power-on, or while off and connected to an active USB power source | One flashing red bar = 15% or less | Plug in to charge |
| Signature AI Edition M750 | Steady green from 100% to above 5% | Pulsing red = critical level (Logitech equates this with about one month of median use) or below | Uses one AA alkaline battery |
Why the general chart is not a rule for every mouse
The general example chart is useful for understanding how Logitech scales its indicators, but it is not a guarantee for every model. The M535 family uses a timed top LED, the MX Master uses a green-count system where one red light means recharge, and the G900 and G903 show a single red bar. If your mouse does not match the general chart, trust the entry for your model rather than the example.

- Your hand can relax in comfort hour after hour with this ergonomically designed mouse. Its contoured shape with soft rubber grips, gently curved sides and broad palm area give you the support you need for effortless control all day long.
- You’ve got the control to do more, faster. And side-to-side scrolling plus zoom gives you the power to scroll horizontally and vertically through your music library, maps and Facebook feeds, and zoom in and out of photos and budget spreadsheets with a click.* * Requires Logitech SetPoint software (Windows) or Logitech Control Center software (Mac OS X)
- Two years of battery life practically eliminates the need to replace batteries. ** The On/Off switch helps conserve power, smart sleep mode extends battery life and an indicator light eliminates surprises. ** Battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions.
- The tiny Logitech Unifying receiver stays in your laptop. There’s no need to unplug it when you move around, so there’s less worry of it being lost. And you can easily add compatible wireless mice and keyboards to the same wireless receiver.
Where a missing red warning can mislead you
On the G304 and G305, Logitech notes that other LED functions can take priority over the battery warning. A mouse that does not flash red at power-on is therefore not automatically healthy. Confirm the level by checking the software or the model’s guide before you assume the battery is fine.
Check the battery in software when the light is unclear
Logitech’s general guidance says Logitech Options can provide low-charge warnings. For the M750, the guide refers specifically to Logi Options+ warnings. The G602 support page describes checking battery status in Logitech Gaming Software. Software support depends on the device and on your operating system, so confirm that your model appears in the software before relying on it. If the model is not listed, the LED guide is your only built-in check.

Recharge or replace: how to decide
The correct response depends on the model, not on the color alone:

Rechargeable models such as the MX Master and the G900/G903 are recharged. For the G900 and G903, Logitech says to plug the mouse in when a single flashing red bar appears.
-
Models that take a battery need a replacement of the type the guide names. The M750 requires one AA alkaline battery. Do not assume that battery type applies to other models; check the guide before buying.
-
Solid red on the M535, M336, or M337 means replace the battery, while blinking red on those models means the battery is low.
