For a personal Venmo account, your account and routing numbers are under Me > Settings (gear icon) > Direct Deposit > Show Account Number. These are bank-style numbers for Direct Deposit, not your Venmo username. Teen Accounts use a different path, covered below.
Find the number in a personal account
Venmo’s Direct Deposit FAQ describes this path for eligible personal accounts. Menu labels can shift when Venmo updates its app, so if a label differs slightly, look for the Direct Deposit section inside Settings.

- Open the Venmo app and tap Me, which is your profile picture or initials.
- Tap the Settings gear in the top right.
- Tap Direct Deposit.
- Tap Show Account Number.
- Copy the account number and the routing number exactly as the app displays them.
Venmo states the principle plainly in its FAQ: “You can access your account and routing numbers for Direct Deposit in your Venmo app.” Use the in-app numbers rather than copying them from a screenshot or an older document, since the app is the source Venmo points users to.
Teen Accounts use a different path
If the account belongs to a teen, the numbers are not under Me > Settings. Venmo’s Teen Account Direct Deposit FAQ says to open the Card tab and tap the eye icon next to Direct Deposit to reveal them.

Teen Accounts also have a limit. They cannot receive government payments through Direct Deposit, so do not give these details to a government agency that asks for a benefit or refund deposit. Check the Teen Account FAQ before using the numbers for any payment that is not a standard employer or issuer deposit.
Why the numbers may not appear
Venmo limits Direct Deposit to eligible accounts. Its FAQ says a user must complete the required identity verification and otherwise be eligible, and that Venmo determines eligibility in its discretion. If the setting is missing:

- Confirm that the app is signed into the account you intend to use.
- Complete any identity verification Venmo asks for in the app.
- If the account appears eligible and the Direct Deposit option still does not show, contact Venmo through Me > Settings > Get Help > Chat With Us, as described on Venmo’s Contact Us page.
Account number versus Venmo username
Your Venmo username, profile name, QR code, and payment ID are used to send and receive payments between Venmo users. They are not the bank-style details an employer or card issuer needs. The account and routing numbers are the ones used for Direct Deposit. Share them only with a payer that has asked for them.

What to give an employer or issuer
Enter the account and routing numbers exactly as shown in the app. If a form also asks for a bank name and address, Venmo’s FAQ gives this partner-bank information:
- Bank name: The Bancorp Bank, N.A.
- Address: 345 N Reid Place, Suite 700, Sioux Falls, SD 57106
Provide the bank name and address only when the form asks for them. Venmo’s Direct Deposit FAQ covers the setup and partner-bank details.

Check the numbers before you submit
Accuracy matters more than speed here. Venmo’s FAQ warns: “By failing to provide the issuer with your correct account and routing numbers, Venmo may be unable to deliver your funds to the correct account.” Venmo also states that it is not responsible for nondelivery caused by incorrect account information that the user submits. Re-read both numbers against the app screen before you save the form, and confirm the routing number is the one shown beside the account number, not a copied bank number from another account.
The app shows the Direct Deposit numbers for personal accounts from Settings and for Teen Accounts from the Card tab. Once you have the correct numbers and any required bank details, the form is ready to submit.
