In the documented Runway workflow, the practical handoff is a rendered image or video. Use GLB or glTF only when the receiving application explicitly supports 3D files.
What a browser-based bridge actually transfers
A bridge such as the Blender Bridge project connects a browser chat or MCP client to Blender through a desktop HTTP bridge and an add-on. The AI interface can send commands to Blender and, in the project-described workflow, receive results, scene data, and screenshots to inspect before sending further commands. That is a control-and-feedback connection to the 3D application; it is not, by itself, an importer inside an AI video service.

This distinction matters because “import” can mean two different things: bringing a 3D asset into an application that understands scene files, or giving a video model visual material to use as a reference. A bridge can help with the first part of a creative workflow without making the downstream video model capable of reading Blender’s scene structure.
Can you send a Blender scene directly to an AI video generator?
For Runway, the reviewed support documentation describes image, video, and audio file types and codecs. Its Gen-4.5 page describes text-to-video and image-to-video, with other inputs described as forthcoming on that page. Those pages do not document direct Blender project or GLB scene-file input. Check the current supported-input documentation for the specific model before relying on a format or feature; availability and model specifications can change.

- Advanced 3D navigation
- Wireless and USB-C connectivity
- Rechargeable battery lasting up to 1 month between charges
- 2 programmable side buttons
- Lightweight and durable carry case
For this documented destination, render the scene as a still or clip and use that media as the handoff. A rendered frame conveys appearance and composition; a rendered clip can convey motion. Neither carries the editable Blender scene hierarchy in the way a native project or supported 3D interchange file can.
A practical Blender-to-video workflow
- Build and inspect the scene in Blender. Use the browser bridge to issue supported commands and inspect returned scene information or screenshots. The bridge project describes this architecture; it is not an independent performance or reliability benchmark.
- Keep the Blender project as your editable source. Preserve the native scene for changes to geometry, materials, lighting, camera, or animation. Export an interchange asset only when a downstream 3D application specifically accepts that format.
- Choose the handoff based on the destination. For a compatible 3D application, consider glTF or GLB. For the Runway workflow documented here, render an image or video that the selected model accepts.
- Check the model’s current input limits. Confirm accepted file type, codec, dimensions, and aspect ratio for the exact model and feature you plan to use. Runway’s developer documentation gives model-dependent aspect-ratio constraints for image and video references.
- Review the rendered handoff. Check crop, framing, dimensions, and whether the image or clip communicates the intended composition and motion. If the reference does not show the subject or action clearly, adjust the Blender camera or render before submitting it.
What Blender’s glTF export can—and cannot—preserve
Blender 4.4’s glTF 2.0 documentation describes support for a defined subset of scene content: meshes; Principled BSDF and unlit materials; textures; cameras; punctual lights; extensions and extras; and keyframe, shape-key, and skinning animation. This makes glTF useful for transmitting 3D models to web and native applications that support it.

- Perfect Fit for Small to Medium Hands: Designed specifically for hand lengths under 7.5 inches (19.05 cm), the EM11 NL reduces wrist strain by aligning with your natural grip. Please measure the size before ordering for a better fit and more comfort
- Connect up to 3 Devices: This ergonomic wireless mouse features dual Bluetooth connectivity and 2.4G USB-A connectivity modes for simultaneous connection of up to 3 different devices, and is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 10 or higher, Mac OS X 10.12 or higher, and Android 4.3 or higher
- Rechargeable Ergonomic Mouse: The Bluetooth Vertical Mouse has a built-in 500mAh Li-Ion battery that can be conveniently recharged using the included Type-C cable(The Type-C cable is for charging only)
- Ergonomic Vertical Design: The ergonomic mouse wireless keeps your wrist naturally straight, putting your forearm and wrist in a more natural and relaxed position, which can reduce discomfort and strain, helping to improve productivity and reduce the risk of repetitive strain injuries compared to a standard mouse. Warm tips: We encourage you to relax your palm and hold the mouse naturally when using a vertical mouse
- Learning curve: Since it takes a learning curve to get used to the shape when using our ergonomic mouse for the first time, it may cause inconvenience to your mouse grip, We recommend that you take 1-2 weeks to get used to it, as many users find that it will help reduce the pressure and pain on your wrist caused by long-term use of the mouse and improve comfort
It is not a lossless serialization of every Blender feature. Materials are mapped to the supported model, and feature support has limits. Exporting a GLB does not guarantee that the receiving application will interpret all scene elements as intended, and it does not make an image-to-video model accept a 3D file. Test the exported asset in the actual destination and inspect the result.

Choose an approach by the destination and the transfer direction
| Approach | What moves | Best fit | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Browser bridge to Blender | Commands and feedback such as execution results, scene data, or screenshots, as described by the Blender Bridge project | Iterating on a live Blender scene with an AI interface | It connects to Blender; it does not establish that a video generator imports the scene. |
| Blender glTF/GLB export | Supported 3D scene elements in an interchange format | A web or native 3D application that explicitly supports glTF | Only documented supported features transfer, and destination interpretation can differ. |
| Rendered image or video | The scene’s visual appearance, and motion when represented in a clip | An AI video workflow that accepts image or video references | It is a visual reference, not an editable 3D scene or hierarchy. |
When evaluating another product’s “bridge,” check whether it is one-way export or a live round trip, which actual input types the destination accepts, which materials and animation survive, whether the bridge returns inspectable state for correction, and whether processing happens locally, through a desktop companion, or through a cloud service. Some browser 3D products describe one-way bridges or roadmap capabilities; roadmap language should not be treated as proof of a currently shipped two-way integration.

What is—and is not—established
The cited Blender documentation and Runway product pages establish format and input distinctions, not performance comparisons, adoption rates, or the security properties of the named bridge. No general, production-ready bridge transferring a complete Blender scene directly into a named AI video generator is established by those materials. A procedural scene-to-video research framework is a research system, not evidence of a commercially available import feature.
Product interfaces, supported model inputs, and roadmap status can change. The Blender 4.4 glTF manual and vendor or project documentation referenced here were accessed October 4, 2026; verify the relevant product’s current documentation when you use it.
