Amazon’s smart glasses are a workplace tool for Delivery Associates, not a consumer model described for sale. On a delivery route, the system is designed to help drivers identify the right package, follow walking directions, record a delivery and receive situational alerts through a heads-up display rather than repeatedly checking a phone.
What the glasses do during a delivery
Amazon describes a workflow that begins after a driver safely parks at a delivery location. The glasses activate and display delivery information in the wearer’s field of view. They can help the driver find the correct parcel in the vehicle, then provide walking directions to the address, including in settings such as apartment buildings.

The system also supports hands-free scanning and proof of delivery. Amazon says its real-time defect detection can alert a driver when a package is left at an address that does not match the intended delivery location. The company’s overview of the workflow is available in Amazon’s description of its delivery glasses.

Situational alerts
Amazon says the glasses can show a paw icon and sound an alert when delivery data indicates an animal may be present at a stop. The feature is an alert based on available delivery information; Amazon’s description does not establish that the system detects every animal or prevents an incident.

Wearable system components
The glasses combine a heads-up display with cameras, computer vision and AI-powered sensing. A small controller worn in the delivery vest provides operating controls. Amazon also describes a swappable battery, a dedicated emergency button for contacting emergency services along a route, and a hardware privacy switch.
Amazon says the glasses support prescription lenses and transitional lenses that adjust to light. It does not identify a consumer replacement-parts market or say that the system works with third-party smart glasses.

Who uses them, and how widely
Amazon says use is voluntary for Delivery Service Partner (DSP) owners and their teams of Delivery Associates. DSPs are independent businesses that contract to provide Amazon delivery services, so the glasses are not used by every driver delivering Amazon packages.
In its September 21, 2026 update, Amazon said more than 500 Delivery Associates had tested the glasses on real routes over the preceding 18 months, completing more than 275,000 customer deliveries with the technology. Amazon also said it was deploying an additional 5,000 devices during 2026 and planned to have more than 20,000 in the field by the end of 2027. These are company-reported test figures and rollout plans, not evidence of universal adoption; plans can change. See the Amazon announcement on DSP safety initiatives and technology.

What the safety claims do—and do not—show
The design aims to put delivery information in a driver’s line of sight and reduce the need to shift attention between a phone, a parcel and the surroundings. Amazon presents this as a way to make delivery work safer and more seamless. One participating driver, Kaleb M. of Maddox Logistics Corporation in Omaha, told Amazon: “I felt safer the whole time because the glasses have the info right in my field of view. Instead of having to look down at a phone, you can keep your eyes forward and look past the display—you’re always focused on what’s ahead.” That is an individual participant’s account reproduced by Amazon, not an independent safety finding.
The available evidence does not quantify whether the glasses reduce injuries, delivery times or error rates in a controlled comparison. Nor does an in-view display eliminate the need for drivers to stay aware of their surroundings.

Can you buy the same glasses?
Amazon’s published material describes a purpose-built work system for Delivery Associates, not a consumer retail product with a named model or purchase path. It also does not identify a compatible third-party accessory or a public listing for the controller or battery. Prescription and transitional lenses are reported options, but Amazon does not specify a maker or model for those lenses.
For context on the employment relationship, Amazon’s delivery-driver information describes both Amazon and DSP driver jobs. The glasses’ availability and use are tied to workplace deployment rather than a buyer-facing product range.
