Housecall Pro may suit plumbers who want scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, and customer management in one platform. Its dedicated Plumbing Package is described for residential and light-commercial work. The right fit depends on the plan and features a business needs, its crew and payment costs, and whether the software handles its real jobs. Product details below are based chiefly on Housecall Pro’s own descriptions, not an independent hands-on test.
What does Housecall Pro offer plumbers?
The Plumbing Package adds plumbing-focused tools to Housecall Pro’s standard plans. In a help-center overview dated September 1, 2026, the company listed these tiers:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Tier | Plumbing-specific features listed |
|---|---|
| Basic | Plumbing KPI dashboard, purchase orders, and no-fee credit-card surcharging, in addition to core Housecall Pro features. |
| Essentials | Basic features plus a sales proposal tool, membership plans, and price-book commissions. |
| MAX | Essentials features plus Pipeline and Pricing Insights. |
Housecall Pro says its plumbing KPI dashboard covers revenue, jobs, team performance, and memberships. Purchase orders can be tied to job material line items; memberships can be sold on jobs or estimates; and commissions can be set by price-book line item. Pricing Insights provides live price benchmarks based on jobs in the company’s community. That is the vendor’s description of the feature, not an independent assessment of benchmark accuracy.

The general product page is broader than the plumbing tier table, so confirm which plan includes each function before subscribing.

Which plumbing businesses might benefit?
Owner-operators and residential service teams
A plumber who wants one system for booking, dispatch, quoting, billing, payment collection, and customer communication may find the package worth evaluating. The preconfigured plumbing tools may be relevant to businesses that use price books, sell memberships, or need purchase orders tied to job materials. Whether those tools save time or fit a particular workflow has not been established by independent testing.
Light-commercial and more complex work
Housecall Pro describes the Plumbing Package as intended for residential and light-commercial plumbing businesses. That is not proof that it covers every commercial operation. Businesses with complex work orders, equipment tracking, progress billing, staged invoicing, or negotiated payment terms should test those workflows directly rather than infer coverage from the package description.

How much does it cost, and what about payment fees?
At the time of the reviewed official pricing page, Basic was listed at $59 per month when billed annually, and the page advertised a 14-day free trial without a credit card. These are page-specific offers, not guaranteed current prices: the actual quote may depend on billing cycle, users, plan, discounts, and promotions. Check the current official price before deciding.
Housecall Pro’s pricing FAQ states that bank payments carry a 1% fee and card processing starts at 2.59%. The pricing page also says the product integrates with QuickBooks, Google, and Thumbtack; MAX includes Zapier and open API access. Calculate the total using the plan and seats required, transaction mix, add-ons, and integrations—not just the entry-tier price.
Rank #3
The pricing page says there is no long-term contract and that customers can upgrade or downgrade; downgrades take effect at the end of the current monthly or annual billing period. Confirm the contract and cancellation terms that apply to your purchase.
What should you test before subscribing?
- Map features to plan tiers. Confirm whether your plan includes the specific tools you need, especially memberships, purchase orders, proposals, commissions, Pipeline, and Pricing Insights.
- Run a real field workflow. Have technicians try the mobile app with the tasks they perform at a job, including any offline requirements. Housecall Pro says its app is available for Android and iOS; the available information does not establish a required device model or minimum specification.
- Build a representative job. Check estimates, price-book items, job costing, staged invoices, and purchase orders against the repair and installation work your company actually does.
- Calculate the full cost. Include user seats, payment processing, required plan tier, and optional add-ons.
- Verify integrations in detail. Ask whether QuickBooks or another current system syncs the exact records your business depends on, and confirm any plan requirements.
- Test commercial jobs if relevant. Walk through work orders, equipment tracking, progress billing, and payment terms using a representative job.
How to judge whether it is a good fit
Compare the software against the work your business does, not a broad claim that one product is “best.” Useful comparison points are:
Rank #4
- Crew size and the number of users included in the plan.
- Coverage for residential, light-commercial, or more complex commercial workflows.
- Features included at each tier.
- Payment methods, transaction costs, and the share of payments you expect to process.
- Accounting and other integration requirements.
- Training and adoption needs for office staff and technicians.
- Whether the mobile workflow fits the way your team works in the field.
Housecall Pro announced in 2026 that its community includes more than 200,000 home-service professionals and that its platform had been used for over 100 million jobs; the company also described that community as serving one in four American homes. These are company-reported figures, not independent measures of plumbing-specific reliability, satisfaction, or outcomes. Its co-founder and Chief AI Officer, Roland Ligtenberg, said at the package launch that the features were shaped by millions of jobs and community feedback. That statement is also the company’s own characterization.

They therefore support evaluating Housecall Pro as a possible fit, not calling it the best option for every plumber or assuming it will deliver a particular business result.
