Neither Hostinger nor SiteGround is a clear winner for every website. Hostinger’s published comparison highlights lower promotional pricing on long prepaid terms, AI tools and multilingual support; SiteGround emphasizes daily backups, email accounts, CDN coverage and phone support. Compare the full amount due, the renewal price and the features you will actually use—not just the advertised monthly equivalent.

How to compare Hostinger and SiteGround fairly

Their headline prices are not directly comparable. Hostinger’s US comparison page, dated October 1, 2026, lists both providers starting at $2.99 per month. SiteGround’s comparison page instead lists SiteGround at $2.99 and Hostinger at $3.99 for a one-year price comparison. The pages may reflect different terms or snapshots, so neither figure establishes which provider is cheaper for your purchase.

Before choosing, compare the same region, plan length, billing period, taxes and currency. Check the full upfront total and the renewal rate shown at checkout. In particular, Hostinger says its monthly rate is the total plan price divided by the number of months, and its plans are paid upfront. Hostinger’s comparison and plan details and SiteGround’s comparison are seller-published snapshots; checkout terms can change.

Hostinger plans: long prepaid terms and renewal costs

Hostinger’s US comparison page lists the following plans and prices. The monthly figures below are equivalents for the specified 48-month prepaid term, not month-to-month prices.

Hostinger plan 48-month prepaid price Listed renewal price Selected included features

Feature comparison: backups, email, AI and support

Decision point Hostinger’s published comparison SiteGround’s published comparison
Backups Weekly on Premium; daily on the listed higher tiers Daily backups listed on all plans
Email Premium lists two mailboxes per website free for one year; Unlimited lists unlimited mailboxes per website free for one year Unlimited email accounts listed
AI website tools AI website builder, image generation and writing tools listed No AI website builder listed in its comparison table
Support 24/7 support and 8+ languages listed; SiteGround’s comparison says Hostinger has no phone support 24/7 chat, ticket and phone support listed
CDN and network figures CDN on selected plans; 12 data centers listed CDN with 170 edge points and 11 data centers listed
Migration Free website migration listed Free migration listed, with manual and WordPress Migrator plugin routes described

These are vendor-reported features and counts, not independent tests. The pages do not define data-center and CDN-point counts in equivalent ways, so the figures alone do not show which network is larger or faster. Plan availability and details may vary by region; verify what is included for the plan you intend to buy.

What the speed claim does—and does not—show

SiteGround reports that 78% of websites it identified as migrated from Hostinger to companies in its group between January 1 and June 1, 2025, using SiteGround’s WordPress Migrator, were faster on SiteGround. It also reports an average speed increase of 95%. Those figures come from SiteGround’s own migration sample and reporting, not an independent matched benchmark. SiteGround says results vary by website configuration and region, so the numbers should not be treated as a forecast for your site. SiteGround’s explanation of the comparison describes its methodology and caveat.

The cited comparison pages do not establish an independent, controlled performance result covering both providers’ plans and a range of workloads. For a business-critical or high-traffic website, consider an independent test matched to your region and workload, and compare resource limits, recovery options and support response commitments before deciding.

Migration: confirm the route for your website

Both providers advertise free migration, but that does not establish compatibility or downtime behavior for every site. SiteGround describes a manual migration request and a free WordPress Migrator plugin. Before switching, confirm that your platform and site configuration qualify, understand what the migration includes, and ask the provider how DNS changes and any expected interruption are handled.

Which host fits your priorities?

Choose Hostinger if the listed bundle suits you

  • You want an integrated AI website builder, image generation or writing tools.
  • You value listed support in 8+ languages.
  • You are comfortable paying upfront for a long term and have compared the renewal rate with your budget.

Consider SiteGround if its listed features matter more

  • Daily backups across the listed plans are important to your recovery routine.
  • You want the listed support channels to include phone, as well as chat and tickets.
  • Its email and CDN offer better match your requirements after confirming the current plan and regional terms.

For a business-critical site, decide on evidence beyond vendor claims

Neither vendor comparison supports an all-purpose performance winner. Match the plan’s resources and recovery process to your workload, and assess migration needs and support commitments rather than relying on a general speed claim.
