Hostinger is the stronger fit if you want a guided VPS setup with app deployment options and advertised weekly automatic backups. Kamatera is the stronger fit if you want to configure server resources, use hourly billing, and control a cloud server with root access. Neither is a universal winner: compare equivalent CPU, memory, storage, traffic, location and billing duration, then include backup and other add-on costs. The provider information reviewed does not establish that either service is faster.
Hostinger vs Kamatera at a glance
| Decision | Hostinger | Kamatera |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | People who prefer a more guided VPS experience, one-click deployment options and advertised weekly automatic backups. | People who need configurable cloud resources, hourly or monthly billing, root access and scaling options. |
| Example configuration | The official VPS page reviewed describes KVM VPS plans and deployment features; a comparable price and configuration for a specified term and region was not established. | The official VPS page lists a Basic server at $4/month with 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB traffic and Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS. This is a listed entry configuration, not proof of the lowest price for equivalent resources. |
| Backups | Weekly automatic backups and manual snapshots are advertised. | Daily backups are an optional extra-cost service; the product page describes retention of up to 14 days. |
| Trial | No comparable trial was established in the official material reviewed. | A 30-day trial is advertised, subject to one server, up to $100 of services and 1 TB of traffic; a valid credit card is required. |
| Location and flexibility | Locations are listed by the provider, but a VPS location is fixed after setup; moving requires backup and reinstall. | Multiple data centers across North America, Europe and Asia are listed, with configurable resources and scaling described by the provider. |

Which one should you choose?
Choose Hostinger for a more guided VPS setup
Hostinger is a reasonable shortlist choice if you want to deploy an operating system, control panel or application through one-click options rather than assemble every part of the server yourself. Its official VPS page highlights AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, a 1 Gbps network, weekly automatic backups and manual snapshots. See Hostinger VPS plans for the provider’s current offer and features.
This feature set may be convenient for a personal project, small site or app where a guided deployment path matters. It does not establish that a server is managed for you in every respect; check what administration and support are included before relying on it for production operations.
#1 Best Overall
- Wide Compatibility & Versatile Use: ZOERAX M6 rack mount screw kit is ideal for installing server racks, network cabinets, rack shelves, patch panels, A/V equipment, and more. Designed for standard square-hole racks and cabinets, these M6 cage nuts and screws ensure a secure fit for most 19-inch rack systems used in data centers, offices, and home labs
- Heavy-Duty Carbon Steel Construction: Made from premium carbon steel, these M6 cage nuts and screws deliver high strength and long-lasting durability. The material provides excellent resistance to rust, corrosion, and oxidation, performing reliably in demanding environments such as high humidity, temperature fluctuations, and long-term rack installations
- Precision Metric Standard M6: Manufactured to strict metric standards, each M6 screw and cage nut features precise dimensions with minimal tolerance. Clean, sharp threads without burrs allow smooth installation without stripping or slipping. The deep Phillips head design ensures better torque control and faster, more efficient mounting
- Safe, Reliable & Eco-Conscious Materials: ZOERAX uses non-toxic, environmentally friendly carbon steel materials to ensure safe handling and use. Heat-treated for optimal hardness, ductility, and impact resistance, these rack screws and cage nuts offer dependable performance while meeting safety and quality expectations for professional installations
- Complete Mounting Kit with Washers: This essential M6 rack hardware kit includes screws, cage nuts, and heavy-duty washers. The included washers help distribute pressure evenly and reduce scratches or marks on rack rails and equipment, providing a cleaner, more secure installation right out of the box
Choose Kamatera for configurable cloud resources
Kamatera is a reasonable shortlist choice if you need to adjust CPU, RAM or storage, want hourly or monthly billing, or require root or administrator access. Its official material describes broad operating-system selection and resource scaling. See Kamatera cloud VPS for current configuration and pricing options.
That flexibility suits users comfortable administering a server or arranging their own management. Hourly billing can help with short-lived workloads, but calculate the cost for the full period you expect the server to run and include variable usage and paid services.

The headline entry price is not a like-for-like comparison. Kamatera’s listed Basic example is $4/month for 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD, 5 TB traffic and Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS. Its pricing page lists additional traffic at $0.01/GB and additional storage at $0.05/GB/month; hourly servers are billed by the minute. These are provider-listed figures accessed October 4, 2026, and prices or calculator estimates can change. See Kamatera pricing and build the configuration you actually need.
The official Hostinger VPS information reviewed did not establish a dependable comparable price for a specified term and region. Check its live order flow for the promotional price, required prepayment, renewal price, taxes, backup treatment and selected region. Do not compare a discounted long-term subscription with a month-to-month cloud rate as though the billing terms were identical.
- Match CPU, RAM and storage capacity; also check storage type.
- Compare included traffic and the cost of exceeding it.
- Use the same server location and billing duration where possible.
- Add backups, snapshots, management or other paid options needed for your workload.
- Check the renewal amount and any upfront commitment, not only the introductory figure.
Backups and recovery are different considerations
Hostinger advertises weekly automatic VPS backups and manual snapshots. Kamatera documents daily backups as an optional extra-cost service, with up to 14 days of retention according to its product page. Confirm the price, retention, restore scope and recovery process for the specific plan before treating either offering as a recovery plan. An independent backup provides a separate copy outside the server’s normal failure domain.
Locations and moving a server
Hostinger lists VPS locations in France, Germany, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phoenix and Boston in the United States, and Brazil. Its support article says availability may change and that a VPS location is fixed after setup; a move requires backing up and reinstalling. Check the provider’s current availability before deployment: Hostinger server locations.
Kamatera lists data centers across North America, Europe and Asia, but verify that the exact location you need is available for the configuration at checkout. For either provider, choose based on where your users and dependencies are located, and account for the work involved in moving later.
Trial terms and billing risk
Kamatera advertises a 30-day trial capped at one server, up to $100 of services and 1 TB of traffic. A valid credit card is required. The trial’s limits mean it may not cover a larger or traffic-heavy evaluation; terminate the service before the trial expires if you do not want charges to begin. The provider’s VPS page also claims a 99.95% uptime guarantee. That is a provider guarantee, not an independent measurement of observed uptime.
Performance: what the available comparison does not prove
The official product information does not establish a controlled, matched workload comparison between Hostinger and Kamatera. It therefore does not support a claim that one is faster or more reliable in observed use. To make a performance decision, test equivalent server sizes in the same region with the same workload, measurement period and methodology; a difference in plan, location or configuration can otherwise confound the result.
