If Hostinger suspended your domain because ICANN verification is pending, open the domain in hPanel, complete the verification link sent to the registrant email address, and then allow time for Hostinger to restore the nameservers and DNS. A missing message is usually handled by waiting up to 15 minutes, checking Spam and Trash, searching for ICANN or domain terms, and using Resend email in the domain-management page. If the address is incorrect or inaccessible, change the domain contact details to an address you can use and ask Hostinger to complete the remaining steps.
What a pending-ICANN suspension means
This is a domain-registration compliance suspension, not the same thing as a failed web-hosting server. Hostinger says registrant contact details must be verified within 15 days under ICANN requirements. If verification is not completed by the deadline, the domain is suspended until the verification succeeds.

The check is commonly triggered by a new domain registration, a domain transfer, or a change to the registrant contact details. Hostinger’s current guidance gives India-related registrations and every .IN domain a shorter seven-day verification deadline. The deadline is tied to the domain’s registration or contact-change event, so check that timing before choosing a recovery route.
While the suspension is active, Hostinger says the nameservers automatically change to registrar nameservers. As a result, the website stops resolving normally and domain email services stop working. Restoring your hosting files or changing a DNS record in the hosting account will not complete this particular recovery; the registrant email verification must be finished first.

Confirm that pending ICANN verification is the actual status
Sign in to Hostinger and inspect the status shown for the affected domain before changing anything. This guide applies when the panel specifically indicates pending ICANN or registrant-contact verification. A different registrar status can require a different investigation.

Complete the verification in Hostinger hPanel
Use a desktop browser if possible so every domain-management control is visible. Have access to the mailbox listed as the domain’s registrant contact before starting.

- Open
Domains. Locate the affected domain in the domain list. - Select
Manage. This opens the management page for that domain. - Open the pending verification control. The page should identify that registrant or ICANN verification is still waiting for completion.
- Open the message sent to the registrant email address. Follow its verification link and complete the confirmation page.
- Return to the domain-management page. Hostinger says the status can take up to 15 minutes to update after the link is clicked. If the panel still says pending, select Check again.
Do not close the process after clicking the link if the confirmation page reports an error or does not complete. Keep the domain page open, note the message shown, and use Hostinger support if the status does not change after the stated update period.
If the Hostinger verification email is missing
Hostinger says the verification email can take up to 15 minutes to arrive. A message that is not visible immediately is therefore not proof that the address is wrong. Work through the checks in this order so that repeated requests do not obscure the original message.

1. Wait the full delivery window
Allow up to 15 minutes from the time the verification request was generated or resent. Keep the domain-management page available so you can resend only after that interval.
2. Check every likely mailbox folder
Look in the inbox, Spam, and Trash. If your provider uses additional filtering categories or quarantine, inspect those areas as well. Search for the actual domain name and for the terms ICANN and domain, rather than relying only on a sender-name search.

3. Confirm the legitimate sender pattern
Hostinger identifies legitimate verification messages as coming from an address ending in @hostingerdomains.com or @hostinger-domains.com. Check the complete sender address before opening a link. A message that merely displays a Hostinger-like name but comes from another domain should not be treated as the verification message.
4. Resend from the domain page
In hPanel, go back to Domains, choose Manage for the affected domain, open the pending verification control, and select Resend email. Wait up to another 15 minutes, then repeat the mailbox search. If several messages arrive, use the newest valid message so an older link does not create confusion.
5. Stop retrying when the address itself is the problem
If the mailbox was deleted, mistyped, blocked, or belongs to someone who no longer works with the domain, resending will not solve access. Move to the contact-detail correction process instead of repeatedly requesting messages that cannot be received.

When the registrant email is wrong or inaccessible
The recovery requirement is access to the registrant contact address, not simply access to the Hostinger account. If the address shown for the domain is incorrect or unavailable, update the domain’s contact details to an email address you can access, then contact Hostinger for the remaining verification instructions.

In that situation, enter the replacement email in the dashboard, complete the requested phone OTP verification, and follow the confirmation link sent to the new address. The seven-day condition is important: do not assume the same self-service sequence is available for an older registration.
Information to have ready for support
- The affected domain name.
- The exact status displayed in the Hostinger domain panel.
- Whether the domain was newly registered, transferred, or had its registrant details changed.
- Whether the domain is
.INor connected to an India-related registration. - Whether you can access the current registrant mailbox.
- The time you last requested or resent the verification email.
Do not substitute a general hosting contact for the domain’s registrant contact without updating the domain record. The verification message is generated for the registrant details held for that domain.
What happens after you click the verification link
Status update in hPanel
Hostinger says the panel can need up to 15 minutes to reflect a successful verification. Return to the affected domain’s management page and use Check again if the status remains pending after you have completed the link.
Nameserver restoration
After successful verification, Hostinger says the nameservers revert to their original values automatically. You should not need to recreate the former nameserver entries solely because this suspension changed them to registrar nameservers.

DNS propagation and service recovery
The nameserver restoration starts DNS propagation. Hostinger says the domain should be back online within 24 hours or less after successful verification and nameserver restoration. During that interval, different networks can still receive different DNS answers, so a website or domain mailbox may return intermittently before the change is visible everywhere.
Use the 24-hour-or-less statement as a recovery expectation, not as a guarantee that every resolver updates at the same instant. If the domain is still unavailable after that period, verify that the panel shows completed verification and that the original nameservers have returned. If both are correct, ask Hostinger to investigate the remaining DNS or service issue.
Why changing hosting DNS alone does not fix this suspension
A pending ICANN suspension changes the domain’s registrar-side state and nameservers. DNS records inside your hosting account are therefore not the first control to repair. Editing an A record, recreating an email address, or restarting a website service cannot replace the required registrant-contact confirmation.
Once the verification succeeds and the original nameservers return, your existing DNS configuration can become visible again as propagation completes. Avoid making unrelated DNS edits during the waiting period unless you have a separate, verified reason; otherwise it becomes harder to tell whether a later problem comes from propagation or from a new record change.

Common mistakes that delay restoration
Confusing the suspension with a hosting outage
If the domain panel says pending ICANN verification, start with the registrant email. Moving the website to another hosting plan or restarting the server does not satisfy the registrar’s verification requirement.
Waiting for a message without checking the panel
The dashboard is where you can see whether the request is still pending and where you can resend it. Do not rely on an old email thread; open the current domain-management page and use its controls.
Using the wrong mailbox
Administrators often monitor a hosting-account email while the domain’s registrant contact uses another address. Search the mailbox recorded for the domain, and correct the contact details if that address is no longer usable.
Ignoring the shorter deadline
India-related registrations and all .IN domains have a seven-day verification deadline in Hostinger’s current guidance. Treating them like a standard 15-day case can leave the domain suspended sooner than expected.
Assuming verification instantly changes every DNS resolver
Verification changes the registrar-side status first. Nameserver restoration and DNS propagation follow, and Hostinger allows up to 24 hours or less for the domain to be back online. Check the panel and allow that propagation interval before making unrelated changes.
After recovery: prevent another verification suspension
- Keep the domain’s registrant email address current and monitored.
- Make sure the mailbox can receive messages from addresses ending in
@hostingerdomains.comand@hostinger-domains.com. - When registering, transferring, or changing registrant details, look for the verification request promptly.
- For
.INdomains and India-related registrations, use the seven-day deadline as your planning limit. - Save the domain-management path:
Domains→Manage→ pending verification. - If a message is missing, use the 15-minute wait, Spam/Trash check, mailbox search, and Resend email sequence before escalating.
When to contact Hostinger
Contact Hostinger when the registrant mailbox cannot be accessed, when the contact details cannot be corrected through the available dashboard flow, when the seven-day replacement-email process does not complete, or when the panel remains pending after you have used a valid verification link and Check again. Also contact support if the displayed status is not pending ICANN verification, because a hold such as ServerHold or clientHold may have a different cause and remedy.
Include the domain, its exact panel status, the relevant registration or contact-change timing, and the steps already attempted. That lets support distinguish a delivery problem, an inaccessible registrant address, an uncompleted status update, and a separate registrar hold.
