Hosting.com is worth considering if its plan type, server location and renewal cost fit your site—but the available performance evidence is plan-specific, not a guarantee for every customer. The provider lists shared, WordPress, VPS and managed hosting options. An independent review of its Starter shared plan reported 99.96% uptime during an eight-month monitoring window, while another review measured a different result on a different configuration. Treat those figures as evidence about the tested setups, not a single score for the entire service.
What does Hosting.com offer?
Hosting.com’s homepage lists fast shared hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS hosting, managed WordPress and VPS services, and an AI site builder. These are distinct categories; performance or pricing reported for one should not be assumed to apply to the others. Hosting.com’s service pages describe the available categories and provider-stated features.

The company advertises LiteSpeed caching, free SSL certificates, DDoS protection, brute-force defense, malware scanning, free migration, 24/7/365 support and a 99.9% uptime commitment. These are the provider’s statements, not independent verification that every feature is included on every plan. Check the selected plan’s terms, and distinguish the 99.9% commitment from measured uptime reported by reviewers.
Hosting.com also advertises a money-back guarantee, but the inspected homepage does not establish its duration, exclusions or exact refund conditions. Confirm those terms before buying rather than assuming all plans or circumstances qualify.
How strong is the performance evidence?
There is no single benchmark that represents all Hosting.com customers. Reviewers used different plans, locations, monitoring periods and test methods. The most useful way to read the published results is to keep each result attached to its configuration and test window.
HostingStep: Starter shared hosting
In a review updated July 25, 2026, HostingStep reported on the Starter plan using a monitoring window from October 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026. Its Pingdom monitoring checked response and uptime from 19 US locations every 60 seconds. It reported 500 ms average US TTFB, ranging from 375 to 1,079 ms, and 99.96% uptime, with 49 outages and 2 hours 12 minutes of total downtime. These are results from that plan and period, not a forward-looking availability promise. HostingStep’s test details and results.
Rank #2
For a separate Loader.io load test of 0–100 concurrent users, HostingStep reported a 43 ms average response time and no errors. That finding describes the stated test, not every workload or traffic pattern.
HostingStep also reported a 642 ms global TTFB average for its tested Starter setup, which lacked a CDN. That may matter if visitors are spread across regions, but it does not establish results for plans or configurations using a CDN.
ThatMy: multiple configurations
ThatMy reports a different test program covering Startup, Turbo Boost, Turbo Max and Cloud VPS configurations, including a 54-day uptime view. For its Startup configuration, it reported 172 ms US TTFB and 99.91% uptime over 54 days; its displayed Turbo Max results differ. Those figures cannot be directly ranked against HostingStep’s Starter results without aligning plan, location, dates and methodology. ThatMy’s Hosting.com review.
HostingRanker: plan documentation, not measured testing
HostingRanker characterizes its review as research-based and says it has no measured speed, uptime or support results, and no aggregate of customer ratings. Use it for plan documentation and decision framing, not as an independent performance or support test. HostingRanker’s review and methodology note.

What does Hosting.com cost, and what happens at renewal?

How should you decide whether Hosting.com fits?
Choose a plan by matching it to your site’s workload and requirements, then evaluate price and evidence on comparable terms. When comparing providers, check:
- Hosting type and workload: Compare shared hosting with shared hosting, or VPS with VPS, for a similar site and traffic pattern.
- Included resources: Check limits and whether email and backups are included in the plan you intend to buy.
- Total cost: Compare the initial prepaid term with the full renewal total, not just the introductory monthly equivalent.
- Reliability evidence: Look at incident count and downtime alongside uptime percentage, and note the monitoring period.
- Visitor geography: Match test locations and CDN configuration to where your audience is located.
- Support evidence: A stated 24/7 support schedule is not the same as a tested support experience; weigh only evidence that identifies how support was evaluated.
- Migration and refunds: Confirm eligibility, conditions and exclusions for the specific plan and offer.
The published tests offer useful but bounded evidence: HostingStep’s Starter results include a long monitoring window and a separate load test, while ThatMy’s Startup result comes from a shorter window and another configuration. They are not interchangeable, and averaging them would conceal the differences in plan and method.
