Which Hisense TopLift is this?
This review concerns the U.S. Costco model HD5026TLP, identified as item 1956006 in its extracted manual. Do not confuse it with the similarly named Canadian TLDH5026PW: that is a distinct regional model, and its specifications should not be applied to the U.S. unit.

Costco describes the HD5026TLP as a 50-pint dehumidifier. ENERGY STAR’s U.S. product record lists it as certified, with a rated removal of 49.89 pints per day, annual energy use of 526 kWh, and an integrated energy factor of 2.01 L/kWh. These are certification and listing figures, not a guarantee of what it will extract in a particular room or what it will cost to run. The tank is the defining physical feature. Rather than pulling a low-mounted drawer out near the floor, you lift the reservoir from the top. In the reviewer’s account, the handle extends as the tank is lifted, making it easier to carry to a sink or outdoors without bending down. The reviewer also describes a side spout that pours in a controlled way.

Costco lists the bucket as 18 pints; Red Dot’s 2026 TOP-LIFT design entry gives a capacity of 9 liters. Those are the figures as stated by their respective sources, rather than a forced conversion between rounded capacities. Red Dot also identifies a washable filter, pull-out tank handle, casters and adjustable humidity settings. Its entry is a design description, not a performance test. Read the Red Dot design entry.
A built-in pump and included hose provide an alternative to emptying the tank manually. The reviewer says the hose can send collected water to a raised nearby sink or bucket, which is useful when a gravity drain is not positioned below the unit. The available account does not establish a pump lift-height specification.

What it was like to use
The independent reviewer used the dehumidifier for several weeks during a humid Ohio summer and found it effective in a combined living, dining and kitchen area. At full speed, the reviewer reports that the tank filled in roughly three-quarters of a day. That is one household observation, not a standardized extraction test; room conditions and measurement details were not controlled or independently reported. In similarly humid conditions, frequent tank emptying may be part of using it without the pump.
The reviewer rated the unit 4.5 out of 5, citing its compact design, accessible tank, drainage options, smart-home potential, washable filter and low perceived nighttime noise. That is the individual reviewer’s score, not an aggregate user rating or a comparison against other dehumidifiers.

How Matter and Apple Home work—and what is missing
The reviewer reports that setup in Apple Home was quick: they scanned the pairing code, then also used the dehumidifier with Samsung SmartThings at the same time. Costco lists compatibility with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa, and describes the product as Matter certified. The hands-on account specifically documents Matter-over-Wi-Fi control in Apple Home and multi-admin use with SmartThings.
In the Apple Home view described by the reviewer, available controls included power and fan speed; fan speed could be adjusted in 10% increments. Apple Home did not show a full-tank alert or real-time room-humidity reading. That gap matters if your automation depends on the dehumidifier itself reporting when its bucket is full or how humid the room currently is.

A separate room humidity sensor could provide a reading for humidity-triggered routines, but the review did not identify or test a particular sensor. The dehumidifier can still run without one; it is an optional way to add an external humidity measurement to a smart-home setup.

How to interpret Costco’s coverage and noise claims
Costco lists coverage of up to 4,500 square feet and noise as low as 46 dB. Those are retailer-published claims, not independently verified measurements in the available hands-on account. The reviewer’s description of low perceived nighttime noise is a personal impression, not a decibel test. Treat the coverage figure as a listing claim rather than a promise that the unit will maintain a particular humidity level throughout every home of that size.

Price, availability and the buying decision
An August 2026 republished review stated that Costco members could buy the HD5026TLP for $199 at launch. That is a dated launch-era price, not a current quote; Costco stock and pricing can change, so check the retailer’s listing before deciding. The product is most compelling if you value an easier-to-lift tank, the flexibility of a built-in pump, and basic Matter controls. If your priority is comprehensive smart-home status—especially an in-app full-tank alert or live humidity from the dehumidifier itself—the reported Apple Home integration does not provide those details.
The model-specific account is useful for understanding the tank, pump and Apple Home behavior, but it does not establish how the Hisense compares with competing units under controlled conditions. ENERGY STAR figures provide a useful certified efficiency reference; they do not by themselves predict your household’s extraction rate or electricity bill.
