1. Match the monitor to the change
A monitor can be running correctly and still stay quiet if it is configured to watch a different signal. Hexowatch describes its service as monitoring pages for visual, content, source-code, technology, availability, or price changes. Its monitoring options also include HTML element and keyword checks. Choose based on what actually changed:

- URL: Confirm the monitor points to the current page and the correct version of the URL, including any path or locale.
- Target: For an element or source-code monitor, make sure the selected element or snippet is the one that contains the changing data.
- Preview: Check that the preview shows the page and target you intended to monitor.
- Frequency: Confirm the cadence suits how quickly you need to know about changes. Do not assume a particular interval is available on every account or plan.
- Notifications: Verify that the intended notification channel is selected and still configured to reach you.
- Status: Confirm the monitor was started, rather than only configured or left in setup.
If the monitor’s preview is already wrong or the target is absent there, investigate access or rendering before relying on its alerts.
3. Check whether Cloudflare or another security layer blocks access
If the site is protected by Cloudflare, its security settings may prevent Hexowatch’s crawler from reaching the page. Hexowatch’s Cloudflare tutorial says that, depending on Cloudflare settings, you may need to allowlist its crawler user agent. The tutorial gives a firewall/WAF rule example that matches a user agent containing “Hexowatch” or an example full user-agent value, then allows it.

The tutorial was published on December 28, 2022, so its exact Cloudflare menu path may have changed. Before modifying a rule, check Hexowatch’s current tutorial and Cloudflare’s current documentation. Make a narrow rule for the crawler rather than broadly weakening site protections. A blocked crawler may fail to access the page and can lead to false incident alerts as well as missed monitoring.
4. Compare the captured page with the live page
A page that renders differently for a monitor can look like a detection problem even when the cause is compatibility or page access. Hexowatch’s FAQ specifically raises pages built with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue, and pages that do not display correctly during monitoring. The FAQ topics alone do not establish universal framework support or a particular fix.
