The key difference is architecture: the G70 combines two Cortex-A75 cores with six Cortex-A55 cores, while the G35 uses eight Cortex-A53 cores. Their GPUs differ too, with Mali-G52 MC2 graphics in the G70 and PowerVR GE8320 graphics in the G35.

Why the G35’s higher clock does not make it faster
The G35’s reported peak CPU frequency reaches 2.3 GHz, above the G70’s 2.0 GHz maximum for its Cortex-A75 cores. That single figure does not describe how much work a processor completes per clock or how its cores are arranged. The G70 has two Cortex-A75 cores alongside six Cortex-A55 cores; the G35 uses Cortex-A53 cores. Core design and workload both matter, so GHz alone is not a reliable way to rank these chips.

| Geekbench 5 single-core, CPU-Monkey | 368 | 166 |
| Geekbench 5 multi-core, CPU-Monkey | 1,234 | 892 |
NanoReview reports fewer than three G70 samples and two G35 tests for its AnTuTu 11 comparison. For Geekbench 6, it reports 76 G70 tests and fewer than three G35 samples. CPU-Monkey lists the AnTuTu 8 and Geekbench 5 results above. Across these comparisons, the G70 generally leads in CPU results.
One comparison does not follow that pattern: 91mobiles’ own tests report AnTuTu scores of 195,041 for the G70 and 203,078 for the G35. That differing order is a reminder that observed results can shift with the tested handset and conditions; it does not establish a universal performance reversal.

The G70’s Mali-G52 MC2 and the G35’s PowerVR GE8320 are different graphics designs, so their clock rates alone do not establish gaming speed. In NanoReview’s handset-specific game comparisons, the Realme C3 with the G70 and Xiaomi Poco C3 with the G35 both used 720 × 1600 displays. Reported average frame rates include:

These are results from two different phones, not a controlled chip-only test. Settings are not identical in most of the examples, and NanoReview notes that frame rates can vary with game version, operating system and other factors. Treat the figures as illustrations of those specific handset comparisons, not as a promise of what another G70 or G35 phone will deliver.
MediaTek says the G70 includes HyperEngine technology for dynamic management of CPU, GPU and memory. Its infographic also states that Wi-Fi/LTE concurrency triggers are predicted in 13 milliseconds. These are manufacturer descriptions of the platform, not independent evidence that every game will run smoothly.
Quick Recap
Which chip should you choose?
- For stronger expected CPU and graphics performance: the G70 is the better-supported choice in the available comparisons, with a more varied CPU core configuration and benchmark results that mostly favor it.
- Do not choose by peak GHz alone: the G35’s higher listed peak frequency does not establish better overall performance.
- When comparing phones, check the handset itself: these chip-level results do not establish current phone price, condition, stock or software support. A device’s configuration and test conditions also affect real-world results.
