Heir of Light: Eclipse is a separate collectible RPG that reinterprets the original Heir of Light’s fantasy world—not simply a renamed version of the same game. The clearest documented contrast is in what the publisher highlights: the original’s Master-led Crusades, Mark-matched combo skills and named activities, versus Eclipse’s collectible characters and equipment-focused growth. The available official descriptions do not establish a complete, current feature-by-feature comparison.
Are Heir of Light and Heir of Light: Eclipse the same game?
No. Com2uS Holdings describes Heir of Light: Eclipse as a collectible RPG developed by FunFlow that reinterprets the original game’s fantasy world with its own scenario, characters and content. That makes Eclipse a distinct title based on the earlier game’s intellectual property; the publisher’s wording does not call it a remake or establish it as a direct sequel. How the games differ in their official descriptions
| Aspect | Heir of Light | Heir of Light: Eclipse |
|---|---|---|
| Framing | The original dark-fantasy game, centered on a Master leading Crusades with Servants. | A collectible RPG that reinterprets the original’s fantasy world with its own scenario, characters and content. |
| Party and combat details | Servants have different Elements and Classes. Masters and Servants each have a Mark; matching a Servant’s Mark to the Master’s enables a Combo Skill. | The cited publisher material describes Servants and character growth, but does not provide an equivalent full combat-system description. |
| Progression and activities | The official site describes directional World Map travel and lists Invasion, Tower Invasion, PvP, Omen’s Void and Magic Dungeon. | A publisher update describes growth through four equipment types and two accessories. Accessory options are random and can be strengthened. |
| Story and setting | The official description focuses on resisting corruption and liberating corrupted territory. | The publisher says Eclipse has its own scenario within a reinterpreted version of the original’s fantasy world; the cited material does not give a side-by-side plot account. |
The original’s features in the table come from its official Heir of Light site. Eclipse’s description and accessory details come from the Com2uS Holdings update. The accessory system is a feature described in that update, not confirmation that the game’s current progression system remains unchanged.

The original official site presents a dark-fantasy conflict between those resisting corruption and those who have succumbed to it. Its gameplay description puts the Master in charge of a Crusade and a team of Servants. The Mark-matching Combo Skill is a specific party-building interaction: the Master’s Mark matters when choosing which Servants to bring.

These details identify the original’s documented design, but the site is legacy material and does not establish the game’s present support or availability.
What Eclipse’s documented progression adds
The publisher’s Eclipse update describes character development built around four kinds of equipment and two accessories. Accessories can have random options, and those options can be strengthened. This points to an equipment-and-character-growth emphasis in the documented update, alongside Eclipse’s collectible-RPG framing.

That is not enough to conclude that Eclipse lacks the original’s Mark system, activities or other mechanics. The cited publisher description does not give a complete combat specification, and a difference in what official pages emphasize is not proof that a feature exists exclusively in one title.

Which one should you choose?
Use the documented design distinction as a guide, not as a current quality ranking. The original’s official description may be the better fit if you are specifically interested in its Master-and-Servant team setup, Mark-matching combos and named modes. Eclipse may interest you if you want the publisher’s reinterpreted setting and the character-growth systems described in its update. These descriptions do not establish which game is more generous, faster to progress in, better balanced or more active.
